Knee issues

Hello!

I injured my knee about 6 years ago. It wasn't a major injury, but I was in a brace for about a month.

In the last month, I've been getting active. I go to the gym 6x a week. 3x cardio only (typically stationary bike for 30-45 minutes) and 3x strength (body weight & free weights; jogging). I'm starting to have some issues with my knee. It doesn't exactly "hurt" but it feels... full. The joint has also been clicky.

Is there anything I can do to address this issue?

I think this is an issue best addressed by a qualified physician.

I would definitely at the very least wear a brace on it when you work out and see if this takes care of the issue if you are feeling uncomfortable. If not, you may want to see a doctor.

I agree, see a doctor. I have issues with my knees as well, but its constant dull pain but after activity (not during) it gets much worse. There is so much in the knee that could be going wrong, its best to go to the experts!

    ^^^^ This!
Don't fool around with knee issues. Talk to a doctor and get a referral to an orthopedic doc. Therapy might help, but only he/she can tell you what is best for it. Ignoring it now could lead to much bigger problems later. Don't wait, do it sooner rather than later--you will save yourself a world of future hurt.

1.See a doctor OR Nurse practitioner
    2. You might try glucosamine/chondroitin supplement...research is mixed but some studies show that it helps rebuild broke down cartilage and improve joint pain/stiffness.
    3. Stay active...don't give up...research supports that weight loss improves joint pain/ function
  • Definitely see a doctor. I have knee issues too, but I've wanted to bike a lot more lately and a knee brace has helped me bike pain free.

Same problem here...finally went for the cortisone shot. I saw that you're jogging some. Stop it. lol. No, but seriously, any impact aerobics will hurt like hell. Jogging kills my knee and even walking will bother me if I do long distance. Stick with biking, elliptical, swimming. There are a few weight lifting positions I stay away from, but most don't bother me. Luckily squats haven't bothered me, or I'd really be upset. Good luck, and see that doctor for more advise.

See your orthopedist. I am 47 and have severe osteoarthritis (bone on bone) in my right knee because of a running injury when I was younger. Don't ignore what your body is trying to tell you.

Coming from someone (me) that has had both knees replaced, mainly worn out from sports, check in with an Orthopedic Dr. Preferably one that specializes in sports medicine.:flowerforyou:

Sounds like fluid is building on the knee...If you can handle asprin take 2 twice a day..ice the area and elevated it a day and dont work out anymore until it stops..If that does not help the best choice is your doctor.....I had my knee cap taken out after it was crushed 22 yrs ago with no replacement...
