im on a 1700 calorie diet. But i am a girl so our calorie needs may be a lot different. I am supposed to eat around 2700 in order to maintain my weight. So by letting go of 1000 calories I can lose 2 pounds a week! yaaay!!!0

I used to be on around a 3,000 calorie diet

I was an offensive lineman in high school. I was eating 10,000 calories a day to gain weight but still only managed to gain about 20 lbs in a year.
When I was in the Army, I was at 6,500 to maintain my weight, which was about 195lbs. When I was in the field and on MREs (which average about 3000 calories), I'd lose a full pound a day.
In my 30's my metabolism crashed to earth.
2500 calories would put me on a maintain. I get between 250 - 350 additional calories burned through workouts. I'm targeting losing 1 - 2 lbs per week (until I get back down to 195), so I'm only taking in 2000 calories or less per day.0 -

I could not do a starvation thing where I can't eat the foods I want.

I was on 2800 net before Christmas if that counts (I was bulking)
Unfortunately I'm now on 2000 net I miss those times.0 -

Only when Im binging! No idea what my calorie intake would be to maintain when I finally get there, but im used to eating about 1500 a day, honestly think I would struggle on a day to day basis to eat that much! But all power to you, Im a little bit jealous!0

This what I'm striving for!! When I get to maintenance and with exercise I should be able to eat that much, or pretty near that!! I do loooove to eat!!0

I was for my Dinner meal yesterday, lol! Back to my routine 1,370 daily intake.0

Started with MFP numbers. Tweaked it using the Harris Benedict formula. Then used the feed back loop of comparing actual results with predicted results. And made small tweaks over time as needed.
To be fair, 2780 includes a 500 cal surplus (this is before exercise; on exercise days I eat around 3200).
This whole post was really meant to be a parody of all the "1200 cal" posts we see, where people say, "I'm on 1200 calories per day. Anyone else?". It's totally arbitrary how many calories a random person on the internet is consuming.0 -

Ahhhhh......I got ya. I was curious though because although I havent been hungry, MFP has me at just under 1900 which seems pretty low for me.0
