edited November 8 in Introduce Yourself
Hi all - I'm new to the site and want to introduce myself! I'm 31 and from upstate NY. I work at a girls' boarding school, and eat most of my meals in the dining room with them. So, I need to eat healthy, balanced meals to be a good role model for them.
I'm interested in health and nutrition myself, and tired of "diets." I'm just looking to be healthy and lose about 25 lbs over the course of this year.
My biggest goal right now is a bike trip I have planned for July of this year. I'm going to ride from Buffalo to Albany (about 400 miles) over the course of a week along the Erie Canal.
I'm looking for buddies to check in with, and maybe hold ourselves accountable for our goals. I love sharing stories and motivation!
Feel free to friend me!

    Welcome to MFP! :)
Your Bike trip sounds fun! My son and I ride as well, and we've been looking for a bike event for this summer.

    Hi there!

I'm a fellow teacher who is new to this site as well. There is a group for teachers "Teachers Take Charge" that has some really nice people in it.

Welcome :) I'll send you a friend request. I'm an English professor (to be!) who is also looking to lose about 25 pounds. I'm also a New Yorker. Buffalo to Albany is FAR! Sounds like fun though.
  • Hi There Welcome! I am also a teacher. Science. My buddy who is also here on MFP is a Math teacher as well. We both joined together, but have opposite goals, me losing and him gaining. If you'd like we can be mfp buddies :)

Hi I'm an English teacher. My husband is a Math teacher. I'd like to be friends. I'm looking to lose 60 lbs and have just started my journey. I'm focusing on eating right now and once I get that in, I'll add more exercise into my routine. I'm currently only doing walking due to knee pain.
