The thing that's helped me most so far was actually free -- a membership to MFP.

I agree, the motivation on here is free.

    1) Home gym equipment (elliptical, free weights, bench & power tower)
    2) Xbox kinect w/ UFC personal trainer
    3) Looking for a good HRM

food scale - taught me how to portion my food properly!
  • After my second son was born and we moved into a house with a finished basement, i bought myself a treadmill.
Other purchases include a bigger ipod, food scale and running shoes.
I no longer purchase diet soda for home.

My HRM is the best purchase. Tracking your calories burned more accurately for your body type? What could be better in your journey to weight loss?

Second would be my purchase of at home workout DVD's. There is absolutely no excuse NOT to workout (unless your sick).

My digital food scale was a gift this past Christmas, and I do love that as well. It's a much better way to measure out per serving foods. I especially like measuring out my junk food with is. One example for me would be when I want chips and salsa and they say 28 grams or 10 chips, and your chips are all broken..... ya.

    1. Bullet blender - smoothies every morning for breakfast
    2. Food scale - just bought this last week - amazed to find how inaccurate my guesses have been
    3. Droid X smartphone - access to MFP anywhere I can get a cell signal, helps with food choices when I have to dine out, GPS apps to track my runs and walks
    4. Cookbooks - Appetite for Reduction, Quick Fix Vegan, Big Vegan, and (free online blog) Fat Free Vegan Kitchen - this process is so much more enjoyable when you eat fantastic, flavorful, healthful food!
    5. Britta pitchers for the fridge at home and desk at work
    6. Tupperware to take leftovers for lunches

Crockpot: easy way to get veggies. Also, having food ready when you come home prevents ordering in.

Food scale: never really knew what a portion looked liked before.

Sodastream machine: I love drinking bubbly water and it has no calories; much better for the environment and my wallet than buying the bottles. Because it's there, I drink more water.
