Tomorrow starts week 4 for me of my second round of P90X. I finished round one back in July for my wedding and lost 44 pounds in the 90 days. I actually gained all the weight back due to getting back to my old habit of drinking cokes and eating pizza probably 2 or 3 times a week.
This time around I am doing a P90X/Tony One on One Series hybrid for the first 45 days, then going to P90X/Insanity hybrid.
Today is rest day but tomorrow I plan to do Tony's One on One cardio confusion workout instead of Yoga for my first workout during the recovery workout.0 -

Sound like you're getting the whole week in one day! Ouch!0 -
Mdm - can you still workout, given your knee?0

I'm wrapping it up and doing the best I can. Admittedly, I'm not going all out, but am plugging through for now. Any suggestions?0

I'd be very careful. In early May/11 I had very bad runners knee. I could barely walk. I took 2 months off and did nothing. After 2 months I triedworking out again and it still hurt. I wasn't sure if I should visit a doctor or not but I knew that runners knee has to do with inflamed tendons. When your tendons inflame the surrounding muscles get weaker. When I had tennis elbow a few years back (inflamed tendons) my doctor had me excercise my wrist, forearm and elbow muscles to help support and reduce the tension of my elbow tendons. It eventually went away.
I figured that P90X would be as good a program as any other to work the muscles around my knee tendons. Although painful at first, I managed to get through it and the pain is now gone.
I would recommend that you go and see a sports doctor (not your family doctor) to get a proper diagnosis and a plan to make your knee better. One summer a few years back my daughter had a very sore arch - we took her to the family doctor who recommended complete rest for 2 weeks and to use crutches. Her arch still hurt by Sept when she went to school and was still on crutches. I decided to take her to a sports doctor - he had her do some excercises and within a week the crutches and pain were one.
If you have tendinitis in your knee then you need to strengthen the surrounding muscles.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thanks much for the advice. You are absolutely right. I've had previous knee problems but have been self diagnosing and this time it's not getting better. Will heed the advice I'm getting from you and many others.0
