Hiya Stacy! I'm a mother of 2 also, they're 21 & 14. I'm a SAHM although mainly I haul the 14 around to hockey, so that's a job in and of itself. We live about 30 miles west of Green Bay.

I live in Wisconsin as well. I have been regularly using MFP for about 2 months now. Been working on losing weight since last summer. Still have a way to go. Good luck!
  • Thank you ladies, I look forward to losing with all of you! What's everyone's secret? How many times do you exercise a week? What type? What foods do you eat?

I eat mainly yogurt, fruit, veggies, chicken, eggs, and wheat bread. I really like making spinich yogurt smoothies with fruit. They are like a treat, but healthy. I add flaxseed and whey powder for addiitonal nutrition. I slowly cut out unhealthy foods and now just eat them as treats vs all the time - like muffins, donuts, chocolate, ice cream, fried foods, etc. I cut out soda completely as it was my biggest vice and I'm just not good at moderating what I drink. After 6 months, I had one the other day and took one sip and it was too much for me. Now I don't understand how I could have ever drank 1000-2000 calories a day in soda.

I go to the gym 3 days a week for zumba and have a elliptical at home as well as some smaller free weights. Otherwise, I also just try to be more active when I can. I park far in parking lots and dont' worry about getting a close spot. I take the steps when only a few flights. When doing laundry, I don't use a basket, I make multiple trips up the stairs. I go to the grocery store to get 1-2 things instead of a ton of shopping at once, so I go about 4-5 times a week. It makes me walk more. Just little things to be more and more active each day.

I am doing best by making myself accountable for everything I eat. Be honest and input every bite. I exercise at least 4-5 times a week but have slacked a little lately due to the flu running through my house and kids activities. I like walking on my treadmill. I should give him a name as he is my best friend when it comes to losing weight. I try to get in 2+ miles a day when I do work out, but I up the incline to get more calories faster. I like my meat and potatoes and chocolate, but I have really been trying to make a big pot of soup on the weekend and take it to work all week - I love homemade veggie soup this time of year, and it is very healthy.

Hi and Welcome! I'm a Wisconsin girl too!
I try and work out at least 3 times a week, right now with all the snow we're having it's been hard getting to the gym
I try and just eat the healthier versions of the food I already liked to eat, cutting out full fat and sugars from recipes which has been working really well. Haven't felt hungry or deprived at all

Hi there! Welcome to MFP! :) I'm Jenn and a 30 something year old Mom of a 12 year old. I, too, work full-time and keep busy running the kiddo to all his activities --- especially hockey & Scouts. I am also from WI --- just north of the Wausau area. I always enjoy meeting new friends, so feel free to add me.
