I don't care how much pain it caused me.. at least I could eat like a normal person!
Anyone else miss an organ they don't have anymore? Or am I just weird..

I didn't enjoy the side effects of not having mine. Though once I started eating low carb, moderate fat/protein, I've not had any issues.0

I don't miss mine at all. I feel so much better now that its gone, and I haven't had to change my eating habits at all (at least not because the gall bladder is gone... I've changed them because I am trying to lose weight).0

I had it out in August.. I can't eat much of what I ate before, & I hadn't been eating unhealthy at all. I googled a lot of the side effects & there are a lot of people dealing with the same things I am. Guess it's just some people. lol0

They want to take mine... I won't let them yet. I've had 1 attack and am hoping that a change in eating habits will avoid more without the need for surgery.0

The wife had hers out three years ago and her eating habits haven't changed.0

I miss my placenta. I enjoyed being allowed to eat for two.0

I had mine out earlier last year, and I haven't changed my diet. (Until now, of course.) Glad it's out though, I was feeling like such crap.0

&& they gave me the run around with my gallstones! I wanted them.0 -
I'd love to get my tonsils yanked out! Just so I can stop getting strep and tonsillitis!0

I had mine out in 2002 and I've never missed it. I wasn't even aware until just now that anyone DID have problems post-surgery. What sort of issues do you have?0

I'm sorry you had to deal with them though. No matter how long.0 -
I had mine out a year and a half ago. I don't' miss the severe pain it caused me but I definitely miss the freedom I had when it came to what I eat.0

Sorry you have issues with it out! I wish my body acted more like mine was out, it's been three years in February and I would never know it's gone since I'm just as irregular as I always was.0

I had my gallbladder taken out mid november last year, so about 2 months ago. I really have not had any problems since the surgery, except once ( I ate too much greasy food and got a stomach ache). Other than that- not so much. I gave up a lot of the foods that made me ill before the surgery, so my habits changed a lot before hand, and I have not really felt the need to go back to those bad habits.0

I had mine out last week, and already I'm regretting it. I had one in the neck of my gallbladder though so it wasn't very safe to keep it in, and I didn't have much of a choice. It seems like a lot of people have issues afterwards. I really hope that I'm one of the lucky ones that don't notice a difference. I guess only time will tell.0

I was fortunate. Only got the pain a couple of times within a month before they diagnosed it and pulled it out. No change at all in my digestive system since then. Still running like a well-oiled machine.0

Mine's been out for about a year and I'm pretty much back to normal. Although my diet has changed but mostly due to just me being healthier overall.0

I had mine removed about 5 years ago, haven't changed my eating habits, hence why I am here lol. But seriously, I haven't had any problems since it's been removed.0

all gallbladders go to heaven.0

I do not miss mine! The attacks sent me to the hospital. It's been gone two weeks . . . the only issues that I am having are laughing and sneezing. Those things are still painful.0

I don't miss my tonsils :laugh:0

I do not miss my gall bladder...it was evil! However, when they removed it in 2004 it seems that they also removed my ability to enjoy the 1 decent Chinese restaurant our town has! I did have more sensitivity like you are having at first, but it all went away...except for this. I can eat at the barely edible Chinese Buffet in town with no problem, but set foot in the door of the good Chinese place and I can barely make it home. :noway: I hope your side effects subside like mine did! :flowerforyou:0

this
The pain mine caused (the gall bladder, not the surgery), was unbearable. It was inflamed and it's removal nearly became an emergency surgery.
I had mine removed last March, and the only thing that ticks me off about it is I still do get 'attacks'. Same pain, but not as strong, nor as long lasting (tg). It bugs me though because by all logic, if it's not there, it shouldn't hurt.
Ugh, just thinking about it makes my head hurt
I hope you feel better soon. It does take quite a few months (up to a year I was told) for some people to feel better and discover what & how your body will handle the foods post removal.

I had mine removed 8 years ago and I seem to have digestive problems afterward. I either have loose stools or am constipated, never am regular and I think it has effected my weight loss, though am not sure. I battled gall stones for a year before going to the doctor. Started getting sick when I would eat and throwing up, lost 50 lbs in about 3 months and had a friend ask if I was bulemic. Of course I thought about going to the doctor, but then worried "what if I am bulemic and in denial" I know that sounds crazy but I got worried it might be true, (sometimes I would make myself throw up because my stomach hurt so bad and that was the only thing that helped) but I got scared to go because I did not want to be forced into treatment or something. Long story short, I eventually doubled over at work and could not hardly move, rushed to emergency room and found out my gallbladder was so full of stones it was pushing them back out and one was blocking my entrance to my liver. Had an emergency removal and for the longest time felt great after that, but the weight slowly crept on and am now much heavier and can not seem to lose weight no matter what I do.0
