Diet Pills

I get that diet pills are the "evil" of weight loss, I have been eating healthy and working out hard and I am trying to get over this bump in the road of losing the last 15 lbs that I need to reach my goal. Is anyone taking a diet suppliment that helped them get to their goal? Im not looking for a miracle pill just something to help boost my weight loss and give me more energy when I work out after a long day of working...suggestions please.

    They really won't help you. If you need/want an energy boost before working out, have a snack of complex carbs and/or some coffee. Diet pills are a short-term "solution" that only make things worse in the long run.
  • I agree with the coffee thing, I had coffee last night before my workout and ended up running 3 miles..thanks Kateroot

    You're welcome! The caffeine really does give you a great boost. It's not the healthiest thing in the world, but everything in moderation. Most diet pills are mostly caffeine anway, and that cup of coffee is much cheaper!

    how many calorie are you eating ? are you eating your exercise calories? are you drinking enough water?


    Generally someone with a BMI over 32 can do a 1000 calorie a day (2 lbs a week) deficit
    With a BMI of 30 to 32 a deficit of 750 calories is generally correct (about 1.5 lbs a week)
    With a BMI of 28 to 30 a deficit of 500 calories is about right (about 1 lb a week)
    With a BMI of 26 to 28 a deficit of about 300 calories is perfect (about 1/2 lb a week)
    and below 26... well this is where we get fuzzy. See now you're no longer talking about being overweight, so while it's still ok to have a small deficit, you really should shift your focus more towards muscle building, and reducing fat. This means it is EXTRA important to eat your exercise calories as your body needs to KNOW it's ok to burn fat stores, and the only way it will know is if you keep giving it the calories it needs to not enter the famine response (starvation mode).

    Dr. Oz is acutally doing a show on diet pill right now. I would look it up online. You won't believe what they put in them. Look up the program and watch. Then make your decision.

  • Skip the diet pills! Start working in strength training (weights) if you haven't already. You will definitely notice a difference in weight loss

  • im all for metabolism vitamins. get a b supplement. b will help boost your betabolism but in a healthy way.

    A friend of mine swears by NV. If you're looking for energy, I would go for a coffee boost. If it's fullness you want is suggest glucomannan, its natural and cheap

  • Caffine Pills.....tried fat burners (100mg caffine in each) and tried doing half a caffine pill (sensitive to caffine)......same effect. Energy and poured buckets during my workout....one is 50 bucks a container and one is a few bucks at wally world....I'll save my money thank you very much.

    I just got these from GNC, they are called Maximum CLA, I just started yesterday so I cant really tell you if they help or not yet!

    Actual diet pills are usually comprised of caffeine, a little bit of vitamins, and things like CHALK. Avoid them. However, you can take some all natural vitamins that support metabolism and energy conversion. Taking a B Vitamin Complex can definitely help energy levels, as well as incorporating a chromium supplement. They aren't "instant fixes" but they support our metabolism in a healthy natural way. You can get them separately, or multi-vitamins usually contain a certain % of these vitamins.

    Caffeine before a work out is not all that bad, it's recommended nowadays because it speeds things up, just don't overdo it. Good luck on the last stretch!

    Yeah I heard about that but I always had bought mine on amazon.

    Jillian girl I am doing strentgh training and my weigh tloss is kinda wishy washy but i am so toned! my BMI is 30 but my body fat percentage is 29! So im scared because when i was in th emilitary ( my fittest my body fat was 22-24%! SO im trying to figure out what or how do i need to work this!

    I take CLA. It is supposed to help you loose fat, particularly around the stomach, and build lean muscle, but it takes several weeks to see any results. So, you have to stick with it consistantly for a long time. It stands for Conjugated Linoleic Acid, and it's found in foods like red meats, etc. You'd have to eat a whole cow to get the amount you find in the supplements.

    I'm not taking any kind of supplement, but have spoke to my Dr, about the subject. She said if I'm going to take any at all then she would recommend taking Alli. Good luck with your decision.

  • From my experience, diet pills work for a short amount of time, until you come off them, tried all the herbal ones, doc once put me on the fat blocking ones, great while you are eating healthy, but as soon as you eat something woth too much fat, it comes out the waste pipe....if you know what I mean,embarrassing in public, sticking to milk thistle and B vitamins now.

  • I just read that those fastins that are sold everywhere now (even Meijers) are the key to kick things off!!! I talked to someone at GNC and she said she can't keep on the shelves long enough!! It's good she said if your starting off on losing weight or if you need a kick start because your at a plato....
  • Get a bottle of Vitamin B Complex!

    I am sensitive to caffeine in that if I have any more than my 8am cup of joe, I risk not falling asleep till midnight. But I take a Vitamin B Complex pill every day with my lunch and it REALLY helps with my after work workout! And, I expereince no restlessness at night.
