Hello all! I need advice on a good heart rate monitor, and reasonably priced if possible. Also, is this the most accurate way to tell how many calories I am burning? Thanks!

I'm shopping, too... any thoughts on the Jawbone Up or the Nike Fuelband? My trainer recommended the Body Bugg, but I don't like the price tag on that one at ALL.0

I had a polar and it was great had to get a new one cause the battery died so i got a different brand thats was free from a program at work and it sucks. Pay the money and get a polar one. The polar ones are not too badly priced.0

Polar FT4, best one if you dont ned GPS0

I just got the Timex Ironman used on amazon for about $60. Easy to use, got great reviews, so far, so good. A HRM is probably the best way to monitor calories burned. Especially if you do a mixed workout and are not just on a machine that will give you data on the screen. There ahve also been questions on just how accurate the data is on a machine as opposed to a HRM.0

Omron HR-100C Heart Rate Monitor. $35.00 on Amazon. Chest Transmitter also automatically synchs with ellipticals, tred mills, and stair steppers so need for wrist ban in the gym.0

If you don't have a lot of money to spend, I got
mine made by CHOOICEMMED, Oxywatch c29.
It slips over the tip of your finger, and also reads
your o2 level. My wife comapred it to the one she
uses at the hospital, and said it was dead on
accurate. It was only $30+ dollars, and takes 2
regular old AAA batteries.
So far I like it for the value, accuracy, and it's easy to use!
If I had the money, I'd probably get a polar. I've heard nothing
but good.0 -
Polar FT4, has just about everything the FT7 has except ability to upload watch data to PC.
I got mine at Best Buy for $5 after cashing in Reward Zone points.0 -

Like most others will tell you, go for a Polar. I have an FT4 and spent about $70 on it and it was so worth it! That is the most accurate way to track how many calories you burn.0

Has anyone used Fitbit? Thoughts on Bodybugg? It looks like the consensus is Polar..0
