MASTER CLEANSE AKA LEMONADE DIET

I agree, it is more about cleansing and healing than weight loss. Most people forget that Master Cleanser is more like a "fast" than a "diet". There are certain aspects of fasting (prayer and meditation) that people don't consider when starting the master cleanse.
I have done it twice successfully. Once for 7 days and the next for 14. Yes I lost weight however I didn't keep it off. I started at 180 and ended at about 165. The cleansing effects were certainly worth it. But, I have had previous issues with bingeing and purging before and I couldn't fight the urge to binge (refused to purge) once the fast ended. Therefore next time i'll probably be more likely to do a "whole foods" fast or go completely raw vegan instead to avoid my bodies negative reaction to not eating.
(btw I'm a Vegetarian already, Vegan most of the time)
I've found that avoiding fast food completely works best for losing weight (for me).
Would I fast again? Definitely
Master Cleanse? Probably Not....
Fast for weight loss? Definitely not0 -
I was going to write a whole big thing on it, but I decided not too. It's not worth it. I'm done with this topic, I'll never post on it again. It's been brought up about 50000 times on here, and every single time it's the same points and counterpoints.0

bottom line-
if a diet, or anything for that matter, sounds silly and stupid....good chance that is exactly what it is
does eating sensibly and getting regular exercise sound silly and stupid?
no, it sounds like it takes some planning and effort...there is the problem.....effort
somewhere along the line...effort and work became bad words....they aren't0 -
It's not a gimmick. It's a cleanse or detox. It was designed to treat ulcers. A Positive side effect is weight loss + a whole lot more good things. Read the book then come to your own conclusion. The grade B maple syrup is pure and natural. The sugar is natural sugar so your body can process it easier. And again. If you change your eating habits and drop 100 lbs with the best diet in the world and then go back to eating the way you use to you will gain back all 100 lbs and more.
Where would you find grade B syrup?
Grade B I have found at Trader Joes and Whole Foods, I'm sure other markets in that realm but I've never found this at a normal neighborhood grocery store.0 -

That's what got me out of trying this one despite the desperation to lose weight quick and easy like Beyonce.
Drink MAPLE SYRUP, LEMON, and CAYENNE PEPPER and eat nothing. For 10, 12, whatever days this one is. Really??? That is one of the stupidest thing I've ever heard of it but yet I still considered it and almost planned it out.0 -

I honestly, with all my heart, believe Beyonce' can afford her own chef, trainer and prob has a full sized gym in her home. Dont think for a minute that girl doesnt work her *kitten* off for that body.
:drinker: (water with lemon.....yum)0 -

Well we all know how Fab Beyonce is and of course she works her butt off for her body, however, in 2006 she did the cleanse for 14 days to lose weight for upcoming role for Dreamgirls and lost 22 lbs. Howard Stern's co-host Robin Quivers lost 73 lbs on the cleanse and Jared Leto also did the cleanse to lose weight for a role.

I just called my good good friend Beyonce,,,,I call her MyBee...she said it was all a mistake and doesnt want you to do it without 5 different Doctor's tellin you to and ONLY if you get to be in a movie with Eddie Murphy.....
so that should end that0 -
A biofeedback specialist also a nurse practitioner phd who works in holistic medicine recommended the cleanse in a seminar we conducted here but it wasn't a diet. It was to be used in conjunction with a raw fruits and vegetables for 7 days. Then after 7 days you add in fish. It was supposed to be a catalyst to a life style change from eating processed food and legged animals to whole foods and fish. She suffered from an autoimmune disease and all but ceased the effects of the disease by changes in diet.0

wikipedia is not a good source. ANYONE can go on and post anything they want on wikipedia.
Dave you are so right. If it sounds stupid, it isn't going to work longterm. Will you lose weight if you stop eating? of course. So should you do it? Of course not.
Come on guys, this is all about exercise and eating properly. Fad diets and gimmicks are what got us unhealthy in the first place.0 -

ROFLMAO! Well said!
I personally like to eat too much. What happened to eating good old fashioned FIBRE? Then you won't get the fantastic side affects described earlier such as flu-like symptoms, lethargy, headaches...Our bodies were designed to eat solid foods and our digestive systems were designed to eliminate waste.
Drinking lots of water is another great method of cleaning your system out. There are tons of cleanses out there that encourage you to eat healthy and exercise along with the cleanse..why deprive yourself of your human need to EAT? Why subject yourself to days of hunger?0 -
I don't know if you guys have read this guy's pdf. The one that supposedly started this lemonade thing. Here is a link: http://healthandlight.com/TheMasterCleanse.pdf
just to illustrate how much of a nut this guy is:Germs and viruses do not and cannot cause any of our diseases, so we have no need for finding various kinds of poisons to destroy them. These germs are our friends, there are no bad ones,
I bet Ebola, Cholera, Meningitis victims would have loved to have known they could have lived had they only drank lemonade with maple syrup!.
another passage (I assume he's speakin about cancer):Lumps and growths are formed all over the body as storage spots for unusable and accumulated waste products, especially in the lymphatic glands.
thenThese growths and lumps appear to us as forms of fungi. Their spread and growth is dependent on the
unusable waste material throughout the body. As the deterioration continues, our growths increase in
size to take care of the situation. Fungi absorb the poisons and try to take the inferior material from the
organs. This is a part of Nature’s plan to rid the body of our diseases. When we stop feeding these fungi
and cleanse our system, we stop their development and spread; then they dissolve or break up and pass
from the body. They will not feed on healthy tissue.
SO basically, if we get cancer, specifically in the lymph nodes, we should go on lemonade diet and they will go away? This guy sounds about out sane as that Treadeaux guy.0
