How should I calculate calories burned for strength training

When I am working on my muscle toning and strength training, I start with 5 min of cardio to get my heart rate up and then I move on to doing training on the weight machines at my gym. I do a variety of them, (not always the same ones - just whatever is free) for my whole body. I do 3 sets of each exercise.

My question is, why doesn't MFP give me any calories for these exercises? I feel like I am burning at least a few, but I can't figure out how to count them.

How (if at all) do you do it?

look under cardio... there's an option for strength training...

I thought the same thing when i started.... you can also add the reps/sets/weight used in the strength columns

if you want you can take a peek at my exercise diary to see how i do it. i do use a HRM to get my calorie burn, even though its not really recommended.
but basically the strength section is for keeping track of weight/reps for your own records to see progress.
you can search under cardio for strength training, or weight training and enter the # of minutes you did...youll get a rough estimate.

I take a basic calculator from the web that figures in average heart rate, duration and weight.
