I bought mine off line, it was $30 and it came with a chest strap. I wanna say i got it from buy.com, not sure.

I just bought an FT4 yesterday, for $69.99 at Big 5. It was originally $89.99, but it was on sale, AND I had a 10% off coupon. You can get a coupon my registering for their savings club thing. They send you a coupon almost immediately by e-mail.

I have a Polar FT7 and like it.

You can go on Amazon and compare reviews from users.

Go to Polar to compare their lower end modesl up to their higher end ones.

Some have GPS, if that's important.

Always buy one with a chest strap.

Best piece of data collection I own.

I wouldn't get anything lower than a polar FT4. Avoid anything Sportsline at ALL costs. I spent way too much money for something so basic and difficult to use.

^^^ what this guy said. based on a friend's recent experience, the price difference between ft4 and ft7 is worth it if you can swing it.
