Hello June Shredders!!!
we are done our first week. This week if weigh in only.
How did everyone do on their first week? I wanted to do the shred 6 days but only did it 5. However I did start my period which was the reason I skipped out this week end. No excuses in week 2 however as I am very disappointed in myself this morning.....
How is everyone else coming along??
p.s.
you can PM me your weight if you want me to change your info!!
Here's to WEEK TWO:drinker:  :flowerforyou:

I gained (again) third week in a row: I'm now at 153.4 :sad:0

Man I didn't lose any weight. I'm not overweight and I have been at this weight for a long time. I think my last ten pounds are just stubborn. I did the shred for 6 days last week! I feel good about that because sometimes it is hard for me to stay consistent. I ate all my calories but it was hard. I think I just need encouragement. I'm not going to give up though. Even if I don't lose a pound I am giving this a full 30 days (and possibly more if I see results). I can do this!0

Weight stayed the same, but my arms and legs feel stronger! The workout seemed to get a little easier as the week went on. I am doing a different level every day to hopefully give certain muscles a little rest. My bummer is that I only did 5 days last week instead of the 6 I had planned. Keep shredding!0

Good morning Shredders!
I accidentally posted this morning on last week's thread. My small loss didn't stick around like I had hoped, so I'm still the same. I definitely feel better though. I'm nervous and excited at the same time to start Level 2 today. I'm pretty proud of myself for sticking with this over the weekend too (I knew that if I had to check in with you all this morning, I'd do it). Good luck for this week, everyone!0 -

Angela - Someone else posted about gaining weight when starting a weight lifting program. Now, granted, this isn't intense weight training, but it's related.

Hi... I also made a mistake a posted on last week thread ups!:blushing:
Today was my second day on level one, and I found it haaard, i still had to do the modified versions and in some exercise used water bottles instead of my 3 lbs dumbbells. On the other hand, i feel i did better in the cardio sections... Well 8 more days to go in level 1, i have still a long road ahead of me..
As of weight I didnt lose or gained... Im getting a little frustrated now cause I've been eating well and exercising for about 4 weeks now, but the scale wont budge... Neither my measurments or body fat %... But, I wont quit I'll keep fighting until I succeed :glasses:
Hava a nice week, and shred away!!! :drinker:0 -
I just got done with my first day of Level 2, and it was tough! The pushups were easier, but the rest was harder. I hate all the exercises done in plank position. The only thing I really loved today was how I felt when I was done... I love that sweaty, gross, just worked out feeling :bigsmile:0

I'm on my third week of the same thing. I spoke with a trainer regarding this and she said that I might actually be working out too much! Huh, who would have known! Aparently your body can hold onto a lot of things like protein because it is prepared for you to work out again (I have been working out 2-3 times a day which usually is walking to work for 2.8 miles, walking an hour at lunch, and then a 30 day shred or gym at night) so she said taking workout breaks during the week throws your system off and allows it to release all those goodies. So I'm going to try this week to only work out 4 days and give myself 3 days off and see if I see a change. I'll let you know how it goes. :-D0 -
I weighed in at 140.7 this morning (starting weight was 143 so I'm down a little over 2 lbs). Darndest thing too because I went out to dinner last night at the Stinking Rose and I'm sure I went over with all that garlic saturated olive oil in EVERYTHING. But it's a rare occasion for me when the actual pounds drop so don't hate me too much .
Recovery week for P90X ended yesterday which means heavy strength training begins again today ... I'm sure the scale will start to mock me once more, keeping me out of the 130's for as long as possible .
Level 2 for me today also and I agree, the pushups are much easier. The intensity was definitely up though. My heart rate was pounding out of my chest and I had to pause at least once to see that I crept up to the 170's (which is a big deal when your resting heart rate is in the 50's)! It was an awesome calorie burn though, much more than Level 1, and a great feeling afterward.0 -
Hi everyone!
Sorry I was a little MIA. . . my best friend was in town from california and i didn't log in to MFP at all (but actually still did OK with my calories. I'm set to lose 1.5 lbs per week and I was 300 calories over each day, which is still a deficit). I also didn't shred on saturday or sunday.
My weight has not changed :grumble: but i can SEE a difference especially in my legs and love handles. I'm really glad i took "before" pictures. . . now I just need somewhere to hide them! I'll shred when I get home tonight. . . still level 1. I want to keep doing level 1 until I can do real push ups before moving on. That way I'll have actually mastered the level.0 -
Just did my first Shred for week two! Last week was great! I did the Shred 6 days and went for some walk/jogs last week as well
Let me just say that Jillian Michaels is a genius!!! I've been at a plateau (sp?) for abuut 3 weeks now and it's been SO frustrating!!! But I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 4 pounds since last Monday!!! And I didn't think I would have lost any inches after just the first week of the shred...but I measured my waist this morning just to see, and I've lost an inch! In only one week! I was very happily suprised!!!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE SHREDDERS FOR WEEK TWO!!! :flowerforyou:

Hi, yes i've read before that exact same thing, that working out too much can work against us... About that, one theory is that eating the exercise calories can avoid the body to go into starvation mode...
I found helpful these two threads:
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/44693-tami-s-secret-to-skinny
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo
I'm eating a portion of exercise calories, but not all of them... I'll have to figure out why the pounds are not coming off :grumble: But one thing is for sure, Im not quitting the shred :bigsmile:0 -

If it's been weeks and the inches and pounds are at a stand-still, you really don't have anything to lose by eating more exercise calories.
So eat!0 -
Hey guys. I've lost 2 pounds!!!! I really didn't think I'd lose any because of the fact that I had already met my goal (When I started losing weight i weighed 148 and wanted to get to 120 and I'm now at 118 mind you i'm only barely 5 foot 4) but I did!!! I think its because I've moved up to level 3 (i started the shred a month before this challenge started) this work out def. works wonders hahaha
anyways today is done and over... had to really push my self to do it because we didn't get home till almost midnight but i knew if i didn't do it i'd be mad at my self tomorrow haha
thanks for the motivation guys!0 -
Hey Shredders!!!
Great job to all of you!!!:drinker: :smooched: I haven't shredded yet today (I over slept this morning) but I will shred tonight plus go for a bike ride for about 1 hour (at least that's the plan).
Vans: I didn't loose anything this week, so my week 2 is still the same weight. Also, I didn't have a tape measure after all to do my measurements; I now have one should I do them now or just never mind since I've already done a week??0 -

Have a great day, everyone!!0 -
Where is everyone today? I just got done with my workout today. I really sweat up a storm! Hope everyone is having a great day!0

I had Plyometrics X this morning. I'll be shredding in another hour, hehe.
I also checked my measurements and while I did lose weight, I did not lose inches. Ah well, one of these days they'll start to get more coordinated. :laugh:0 -
This is my week 1, just sent my stats to Vans to join, looking to do Shred 5-6 days a week, looking forward to Shredding tonight after work. Great job on being so dedicated this past week, everyone! I'm impressed! :smooched:0

Hi everybody how are you doing??
I didn't shred today but I did a 45 minute interval training (walk/jog)... I'll be shredding tomorrow morning.
Nikkie: Now there's a bunch of us who are a little behind the rest.. I arrived a week later, plus Im not shredding everyday :blushing:
The important thing is here I've found support and motivation! Thank you all!!
Have a great day!! :flowerforyou:0 -
Question for the everyone.... is the shred enough of a weight lifting program or should I be adding more? I really enjoy getting in my cardio but tend to neglect the weight training. Just wondering...0

I'd say it depends on what you're looking to get out of your weight training. For me, I'm starting to see bicep bumps, and I can feel my legs firming up too. I just do the shred, and I think it's awesome results for the amount of time I'm putting in. (Long story, short - I say this is enough, unless you're not seeing the results you want)0 -

I think it's enough for the month you're doing it. However, I wouldn't rely on it as your only form of weight lifting month after month.
It's more important to change your routine every 4-6 weeks.0 -
Oh yeah, Week 2 Day 2 done. I'm still going for 6 days a week. And I'll probably spend more time on Level 2 than I did on Level 1 ... I can do it without pausing but I have to modify a lot.
My poor scrunchy was soaked by the time I finished .0 -

 I'm the same way! I will definitely be taking at least the full 10 days on Level 2. I have to modify the squat-thrusts and plank-jacks pretty severely... no way could I hold my core that tight for that long!0 -
Got today done!!! I don't think I would have if it wasn't for having to check in with you guys hahaha0

Hey guys! I've kinda been slacking but I plan to jump back on the wagon. This weekend I was out of town so wasn't able to Shred it UP but I did swim a lot and do a bunch of outdoor activities which I hope helped. The only thing is in the process of doing the activities and swimming I got a really bad sunburn and it hurts to even wear a bra. So as soon as the burn gets better I will be back to the old routine just trying to get over this set back right now.
Good luck to everyone during week 2.
