'Cheat' days

Since using MFP, I've become SO paranoid about having a cheat day. I am on 1200 calories a day, and today went over that by 200...seeing that big -200 in red makes me feel like I've really failed, is it bad to have a cheat day? I've not had one the whole time I've been doing it, and today's made me feel worse by eating what I felt like.
Am I too obsessed? Is it ok, or should I really be sticking to what I've been told...
