Anyone else find that this time of year they're just 'depressed'.. I'm using that term lightly, because I don't feel I'm clinically depressed. But, I feel blah, sometimes sad.. and juts unmotivated. Everyday I struggle and I have to force myself to work out.. it's a chore.
Anyone else know how to get around this and lift your spirits?

Yes I feel like that too. IDK where you live, but I'm in Iowa. It's too cold to get outside and gets dark at 5pm. When I get off work at 5 I don't want to do anything but go home and sit in my chair. I have no motivation for exercise and want to eat everything in the house. Sorry that wasn't much help, but I understand where you're coming from!0

I'm right there with you...its dark at 4:30 pm and SO SO cold here....I find that tanning (I know some people are against it) helps my mood.and unfortunately I do turn to junky foods sometimes too for comfort. And as far as working out, I'd LOVE to get it done first thing in the morning but also lack motivation.
Just knowing someone else is in the same boat sould make you feel like alone...we can do this girl!!!0 -
The more you get up and about the more you will have the energy to do it.
I know what you mean though it's easy to adopt a what is the point attitude. But if I do that I will be upset in the summer when I want to go out and none of my clothes fit!0 -
Make sure you're getting enough Vitamin D... spend time in natural light as much as you can, and change up your exercise plans to give yourself a new challenge. Winter can be hard, especially when it's long and drawn out. In December here, it's dark at 4 pm and still dark at 8 am.... that's tough.0

I do understand the blah thing! I went through a spell back in May (I live in Joplin MO, and a tornado took out a big part of our town). It was just so depressing to see everything...I stopped working out and gained about 8 pounds! That is why I am on here now and making myself work out!! I already feel sooo much better! Hang in there! I'm here if you need to talk or vent!!0

I live on the beach, so I've a TON of natural light. We have floor to ceiling windows in every single room in our house ( minus the bathrooms )... I've Vitamin D drops in my cupboard, so I'm going to start taking them..
I live on Vancouver Island in Canada... so it's not too cold, but not hot. Our average temp is around 2 degrees in winter...
I try to get out and about, but again.. no energy!
I've been good at working out for the last month.. but today, I'm just BLAH!!!
