Diet soda may not be the best thing for me, but a little once in a while in addition to lots of water is better than a year ago when I was drinking literally nothing but soda.
This is me also.....I have cut way down but not given it up yet!0 -
I figure it is a bit of a Moderation in Everything theory. A little bit of everything isn't going to kill you.0

Here's an article from Time magazine about Diet Soda. It mentions a long-term (9 yr) study conducted at The University of Texas.
http://healthland.time.com/2011/06/29/studies-why-diet-sodas-are-no-boon-to-dieters/
"What they found was that all participants saw their waistlines expand, but those who reported drinking diet soda had 70% greater increases in waistline growth than non-drinkers 9.5 years later. Among frequent drinkers — those who consumed two or more diet sodas a day — waistline growth was 500% greater than among non-drinkers. Researchers said their results were adjusted for other contributing factors like diabetes status, leisure-time physical activity level and age."0 -

How about this...is this enough for you?
Dr. H.J. Roberts, diabetic specialist and world expert on aspartame poisoning, has also written a book entitled "DEFENSE AGAINST ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE." Dr. Roberts tells how ASPARTAME POISONING is escalating Alzheimer's Disease, and indeed it is. As the hospice nurse told me, women are being admitted at 30 years of age with Alzheimer's Disease.0 -
Sometimes I want something sweet and bubbly to wash down that bacon cheeseburger. Seriously. Water just doesn't cut it all the time.
What I really don't understand are people who say they can't taste a difference between diet pepsi and diet coke. Freaks me out.0 -

I'm so glad you said this! I am a diet coke addict, other than water it is the only thing I drink. Everyone is always trying to get me to quit drinking it. They tell me I will never be able to lose weight while I am drinking it. It would appear that you are the proof that they are wrong! :flowerforyou: :drinker:0 -
Wait... soda is bad for you...?

That said I drink it..i was merely posting the article.. they also had a 15 scariest additives ... i do need more natural foods i feel like soda drags me down..0

I lost 20lbs pretty effortlessly after quitting soda cold turkey. Keep in mind most of my soda consumption was diet. I try to be very wary of artificial sweeteners in general. If I'm going to have something sweet, I'd rather have the real thing.0

I find the idea that aspartame increases the chances of degenerative mental disorders interesting. I find it less interesting when someone's trying to sell me a book on it.0 -
it is all chemicals, how is that good for you? there are so many studies that say the same thing, soda is so bad for you. on a quest to get healthy I choose not to add any artificial chemicals. that is one of the reasons I got fat in the first place!0

I won't drink soda at all..... Main reason... Put a cooked chicken breast in any soda and see how long it lasts.. if it can deteriorate any thing of the sort... why the hell would you put it in your body?
A man tried to sue coca cola for finding a mouse in his drink, couldn't be proven why?
Because the argument was, it would have been deteriorated by then.
I decided to test this out myself a while ago... A co workers daughter tested it.
Bye Bye Chicken breast in less than 3 hours... Don't you find that disgusting?

Have you tried putting a chicken breast in HCL. It's gross too. I would recommend removing it from your body though. Point being that our bodies can deal with all kinds of input.0 -
I totally agree with you Lucky, people will and do always find evidence to back up there already standing belief. There are chemicals, preservatives etc in just about anything and everything that is consumed, so this information is nothing new but another scare tactic by another lab. This same info came out in what the 80's? I'm happy and love the taste of my diet drinks and yep lost a lot of weight while doing so, so personally I'm going to keep drinking them0

I don't recall asking why soda was bad...0

I know, right? Diet Pepsi is nasty.

Stomach acids do some pretty nasty things to chicken breasts. I've consumed many a chicken in my day, and the product that comes out of my body never resembles chicken.
Corn, on the other hand...0
