Hello... I just joined this yesterday and i am amazed at how by just looking through a few foods how much more aware i am of the food i am eating and what they add up to in calories. One of my problems is that i dont eat regular meals. Often just once a day, and hardly ever breakfast. So last night after picking up a few things at the grocery store I started my day off with a bowl of special k and a bagel. I have almost one hundred pounds to lose and i hope this helps keep me on track and accountable. I am sick of going shopping for clothes and having nothing to pick from. And my weight is causing high blood pressure and putting extra strain on a knee that is already weakened with arthrisis. i have a trip to Cabo in my future and a wedding to stand up in. So wish me luck!

Welcome!!! MFP is a wonderful resource to give you more knowlege about the food you are eating!! What I love is I can still "treat" myself every once in awhile - I just have to workout more that day to compensate! Good luck on your journey!!0

Hi you sound like me, not in the just joined part but the carb part. I too used to eat a lot of carbs and I can tell you from experience that is our problem. Pick a protein like an egg for breakfast if you have to have a carb make it a piece of toast, just one. Or toast and peanut butter. It takes a while but after a couple of weeks you won't carve the carbs as much. I've lost 55 pounds now but cutting out a lot of carbs, not all but a lot!!! Ohhhh google Green monster, I love them for breakfast or as a snack!!!

Hi! I just joined 3 days ago myself. Its amazing how knowlegde can lead to better choices! I have over 100 pounds to loose myself. I had no idea how bad for me some "healthy" foods really were until I saw it all in black and white here on MFP. If you are looking for some "friends" to help cheer you on feel free to add me!
