You don't have to live on chicken and ground turkey to lose weight...0

I don't understand this.
I am vegan and my husband is an omnivore. While I was trying to lose weight he was not. I have only ever cooked one meal. I log it and my family loves it - because it's delicious.
You're not eating delicious food that he would enjoy? Why not??
Eat pleasant pleasing food that is pleasurable.
Please say this 10 times fast.0 -
He's an adult. He can cook for himself if he doesn't want what you make!0

I have the same issues so we each make our own meal planner and just eat different. Once a week we eat the same thing and I call that my free day.....0

Pleasing yourself and making yourself healthy should be #1! That should also please him!!!
I don't want you to get a divorce for changing your roles in the family ...but... MAN UP HUSBAND AND COOK! DAMNIT!0 -
Lots of great tips! Thanks. I have been doing this less than two weeks so I have a lot to learn about making good tasting low fat meals. I actually tried the Skinny Salisbury Steak on the Skinny Taste website today and it was pretty good. I also made the skinny buttermilk mashed potatoes and added a bit of my own garlic parmasian spice from pampered chef. I can not believe I have been adding so much fat to my mashed potatoes. These were just as good as if I added mayo!
And for those that say that I am not my hubby's b!tch... of course I am not. However, my hubby works very very hard for me so that I can stay home with my children so I like to try and make food for him that will make him happy when he is home. It goes both ways for us. He always eats what I make without complaint, but I don't want to always make something he doesn't like now that I am trying to lose weight.0 -
A baked potato with salad is a meal we regularly have as a family, and it's fairly easy to all have different toppings on the potato. You could make chili and other hot fillings in bulk and freeze in separate portions to be reheated as wanted.0

Lean beef in smaller portions (or at least smaller portions for you). I'm a dedicated carnivore so I'm trying to learn to eat less red meat but instead of fighting it I'm trying to be smarter about it: smaller portions and leaner cuts cooked carefully to maximize flavor and minimize calories. It sounds like your hubby isn't trying to lose weight while you are and you have to keep in mind that you may have entirely different dietary needs right now that aren't going to meld very well unless you do make different meals. It could be that if you do impose your diet on him that he could end up with not having the amount of energy he needs.0

I feel the same exact way. My husband wouldn't think of being ungrateful for what I make. But making things he enjoys is one way I can let him know I love him! It's a heavy burden to be the sole financial provider for a family and like you, I want to do whatever I can to ease that. Not because I have to but because we love each other. Way to go!0 -
I glanced at the title and thought it read "How to lose weight and your hubby"

I'm kind of on the fence with this. When my ex and I were together, I'd cook him stuff that he liked, and then I'd cook something else for myself, but I knew he was capable of fixing his own frozen foods too, so sometimes I'd just let him do that, and he was fine with it. Tyson's chicken nuggets were his favorites and putting some of those in the oven before he got home, made him the happiest man in the world lol.
I guess slow-cooker meals are an option too, if he likes stuff like that. That way you have a 2nd meal, but don't have to work as hard at it.0
