I don't get it ...

I'm kind of confused when it comes to my calorie count and where it should be. Here it says I should have 1200 per day, and on another tracking website it says 1600. I could never hit my 1600 calories unless I grabbed something unhealthy just for the extra calorie count so I have been aiming for 1200. The only problem is, I'm not seeing much as far as results.

I'm 5'8 and, as of this morning, 158.5. This is UP 2 pounds from Sunday's weigh in. I'm getting the calories I am supposed to and working out. I'm just kind of at a loss. Is the calorie count correct? Am I doing something wrong?

Any suggestions, advise, comments would be greatly appreciated :)

  • As for your exact calorie count, I'm not sure. I know that mine is off since I'm breastfeeding so I should be taking in an extra 500 calories a day. This app doesn't have anything for bf moms. Maybe you could look into some higher calorie healthy foods like peanut butter.
With the weight gain, don't get discouraged!! Our weight fluctuated daily! You could just be holding extra water weight. Continue to monitor and track your foods as well as workouts.

Are you only eating 1200 and exercising or are you eating 1200 and exercising AND eating back someor all of your burned calories?

If you aren't eating back to at least 1200 calories you might be under feeding yourself.

My goal is to eat 1200 calories and I do everything I can to get there but most days I don't. I don't eat back the calories burned from excerise, I just have those as a bonus. I drank water for the first time in forever yesterday - I had 80oz all day - maybe it was water weight?
