Running Tunes - any recommendations?

Anyone have any favorite running music? I have eclectic taste in music, so I'm open to anything with a good beat (motivating lyrics are a plus, too).

Also, I am fairly new and looking for friends to share the journey!

Thanks!

Mine consists of fast paced songs from the 80s and 90s. "Hip to Be Square" and "Working for a Living" by Huey Lewis and the News are fun, so are "Nasty Habits" and "No One Lives Forever" by Oingo Boingo. I also have some Black Eyed Peas and Offspring. I try to stick with songs that are 160-180 BPM since that matches my running pace, more or less.

Go Your Own way by Fleetwood Mac off the Rumours album.
Its a bit cliche because they used it in Forest Gump, but it works pretty well.

If you go to steady130.com, you can download cardio mixes for free of all those songs and more. They all have a BPM of 130 or higher. They also have exercise mixes that are around 60 minutes long they put songs together into a seemless track so you don't need to mess with your MP3 player while you run. I loves it :-)

    I'm a runner.

I rarely listen to rap music but for some reason It has to be Rap when I'm running.

I go for hardstyle for powerwalking. I'm no runner, so I need something to distract me - I need lyrics or something I can sing along to in my head.

You have to check out www.rockmyrun.com! They have a whole bunch of dj mixes of varied music and lengths and they list the bpm of each mix. Good stuff to keep you motivated. I think that what I like best is it is stuff that is different than normal for me.....keeps it interesting and the run flies by. Otherwise I end up listening to the same playlist over and over and I get bored.

im very strange but i actually like listening to spanish music while i run, like bachata. for instance i do the latin essentials channel on pandora. the beats are pretty constant during all of the songs, so you dont get messed up while you are running, and they are fast paced enough to keep up a nice jog
