Great job!!! You can go to a consignment store or goodwill/salvation army and find name brand stuff if you look. It would be great motivation. Donate those ridiculous jeans because you are NEVER gonna need them again....:)

Hit a thrift store for some 'tide me overs' that you can take back once you're done. OH, and congratz. Having clothes that are now to big is an awesome NSV!

I know exactly how u feel. I too have lost 26 pounds in total and have a problem with my work pants. They are falling off me . But I'm excited about buying new pants, I'm estimating I'm like two sizes down. Goodluck to you and I wish u the best.

loosing pants in public place= indecent exposure (I think this would be a negative for you.. well I hope it would):embarassed:

indecent exposure= fines to pay or jail time (also a negative as it's not conducive to your thrifty side):noway:

jail time= more workout time (potentially positive?)

Yes, it's definately difficult to have to get rid of your "Fat Clothes", when some of the items are brand new and still have tags on them because they were too tight to begin with and you couldn't wear them in the first place! I have gotten rid of at least minimum, 5 bags of fat clothes. I have been buying a lot of new clothes lately, but after I lose another 50 pounds i will have to do it all over again! One thing I do, is buy my new clothes a little smaller than what I wear now because I know that eventually I will get into them after losing more weight, it gives me motivation to do this. It's so different buying clothes now after losing so much weight then it used to be, such an AWESOME feeling! Go to the thrift stores and you can find cheap jeans and shirts until you reach your goal weight, then go all out when you do!
  • Teehee nice one! I've got baggy butt problems too, and most of my jeans are less than flattering around my thighs, but like you, I'm waiting a bit longer before buying new clothes.

Well done, its a great problem to have.

I wish I could hit the thrift store, but at 5'10 inches, and a 35 or 36 inch inseam, I am highly unlikely to find some that fit. But, yeah, I gotta do something. It will be nice to have something that fits me better.

You know, it used to be that I'd wear jeans twice before washing, and they were so much more comfy on the 2nd day, as they'd stretch out a bit. Well now, I can't do a 2nd day. I have to dry them hot and shrink them up again! LOL!

Haha I know what you mean, my jeans used to barely fit me straight out of the washer, now that's the only way they will stay on my *kitten*, next size down doesn't quite fit yet though :(

Think it's time to treat yourself to a new pair or two, tops you can get away with skipping a size but it doesn't quite work with jeans lol

Awesome!!! Get a cheap 'interim' pair on ebay! Keep up the great work xx
  • Well done - no call for being miserable!! I would like to be in that situation! 5 lbs down, and 20 lbs to go .............. takes time doesn't it.

Would it be ridiculous to suggest a belt?

True ;) But often ladies pants fit a bit different, and start bagging out in odd places (as opposed to a man's weight loss). I have watched the hubby lose a lot of weight and just tighten his belt and look fine, whereas my pants just looked silly, baggy bottom, ect...

Check out eBay for jeans, pants, etc. That's where I get most of my jeans. You can get name brand jeans new with tags for a fraction of the cost of buying them in the store. Even the used ones are usually in excellent condition. Plus, you can get hard to find materials (i.e. 100% cotton jeans vs. stretch). Good job on the weight loss so far by the way!

I agree with the majority - go out and get yourself a pair of jeans that fit you. That way you'll not only see the difference in the mirror, but the tighter waistband will remind you that you still have to work hard to get to that smaller size. Good luck!!!!!

I am always trying on jeans because I have such a hard time finding the right fit. In between losses I just buy cheap walmart jeans to carry me through. Buy an new better fitting pair, you'll be amazed how they will make you feel when you put them on.

im 5 8, i know you have a couple inches on me but sometimes you can find jeans at goodwill. thursdays are dollar days if you find the right color tag of the day! i find stuff there all the time. gives me more money for good shoes and handbags! the white skirt i am wearing cost me an entire buck! and i havent been able to fit into it since two yrs ago, and it is a liz claiborne so i can find really nice things there also.

    LOL!!!!! That is too funny!!!

I tried a belt yesterday ... all my belts are still too small, unfortunately, but I think they'd still look baggy with a belt, though they would not fall off at least. I'm gonna check out ebay - had not even thought of that.... there might be some tall things.

Or .... I could just splurge and get a pair of Eddie Bauer talls, which is my dream. :) Love their clothes.
