Which dress should be my motivation?

I much prefer the first - I'm not sure the second is suitable for the opera0

They're both nice, but I'm voting for the second one. Mainly because the drama of the first one is derived from how you'd stand. Do you plan on standing with your arms slightly away from your body all night? Those flappy bits would get on my nerves by the end of the night and I'd probably accidentally dump them in food or the basin in the ladies room.0

1st one for sure love the cut of the sleeves and the fact it's gorgeous without being slim fitting on the legs. Befitting the opera for sure.0

I love the first one. So, pretty.0

You'll rock the second one!0

One more thought, it's been a while since I've been to the opera, but I think the second one is perfectly suitable. Plus, you're seeing Tristan & Isolde, a romance. I've read the Niebelungenlied, I'm so jealous you're seeing this opera!0

I think the first one looks really nice - should go with that one0

The 1st one is more elegant for an opera. The 2nd one I'd wear to a party.0

the first one...definitely.0

2nd!0

The first one has the advantage that you can probably keep your popcorn in the sleeves, so it may be more practical.0

Whichever one you put on and think, "Yeah, this is IT!"
I don't know about everyone else, but I can never tell if I'm going to like something until I see it on my body. Sometimes things that look great on the mannequin, model or hanger look horrible on me, and sometimes things I never thought I'd wear look phenomenal.
But if you're going out to eat before or after the opera, those floaty sleeves on dress #1 will be a liability!0 -
THANK YOU!!!
Also, we're going to Berlin to the Staatsoper
I have a close-fitted wool dress I love to wear, so that's closer to the second one.
And we're going out for lunch before. I guess the second it is. Though, I am tampted to just buy both and wear the other to my grandma's 85th b-day0 -
The first one is to die for!!! Very unique and a beautiful cut. You will turn heads in that one.
The lace one... I feel like I've seen it a million times. KWIM?0 -

I really like both, but would prob go with the first for the opera. I love this thread because I am also using a dress for motivation. I already bought it and it is a bit snug, but I have until April 28th to make it fit really nicely.
Have fun!0 -
if your happy with it, i am sure it will look great on u...0

I prefer the first one--I, too, have a booty and I know the second one would be way too short in the back on me. Better to go for a looser skirt and err on the side of caution!0

Love both dresses. The second one is sexy but I would be uncomfortable with the neckline. I think the first is very classy while having an understated sexiness....I'd pick the first one.0

The first 1 is sexy0

I think the first one is more suited to an evening at the opera.
The second is a cute dress, but I don't think it fits the occasion.0 -

This one, for sure! Gorgeous, sexy and classy. Good luck! What a great motivator.0 -
Seems you have already made a decision, which I agree with. The 2nd one is show stopping, which is the effect I would be looking for if it is my prize/motivation.0
