I may even go out of my way to look 'A hot mess' as I would put it. I try to make myself unapproachable (earphones in ear, music blasting) therefore it is (or should be) very clear that I am not here for YOU, I am here for ME. Im not rude, just not interested. So dont get all in your feelings when I don't talk to you or respond to your wack *kitten* pick up lines! Boy please, go somewhere before your feelings get hurt.

Here's a pro-tip
When Casanova approaches, let him get within a couple feet and rip a big 'ol exercise fart.0 -
Oh girl you know there is no hiding your hotness. Those poor poor fellas all lovelorn and drooling over you. Bless your heart for trying to look a hot mess! :happy:0

That's why I don't go to the gym. All the big, buff dudes stare at me while I try I lift weights. Not checking me out of course but mocking my skinniness and my inability to bench more than 50 lbs. haha
But yea you go in there, turn the volume up and ignore your surroundings. Unless you might be in harms way then don't ignore your surroundings and be careful with newbies like me lifting weights. XD0 -
I think you'll find all the big guys are zoned into their workouts and aren't looking at what you press. To be honest once you get to a certain level you realise that everyone has their beginnings, started somewhere and that if anything you get involved with the smaller guys, not to take the piss but help if they need help. No more.0

I agree ^^^
the only people who tend to stare are the really vain people (skinny, fat, muscular all shapes) who go to socialise and personally, if they have time to stare then they aint exacly in no place to judge you as it is, I do understand people feeling they are been stared at thats just insecurity that most people feel when they first join the Gym, I know I did, youll find the bigger guys are the people who genreally offer tips and advise in a helpful manner0 -
Haha not all guys. Sorry didnt mean to generalize. XD Some are really nice actually and help spot me. In return I help spot them as well.0

Lol, you're a sweetheart0 -
Gross! I am wondering how you can possibly invoke a gasseous emission on cue like that in response to the second (first?) response.
I go in looking cute and come out looking like a hot mess. I made the mistake of inviting a friend to take a walk after a 2 mile run... Let's just say I'm never making that mistake again.0 -
I generally look like a hot mess too I'm there to exercise, that's it.0

I say, if you still look cute after a workout, you didn't work hard enough. I look awful at the gym. I look okay at first....neat ponytail, dry clothes, but after about 20 minutes, my hair is all over and my clothes are gross and my face looks like a tomato!0

I don't really try anything, I just can't seem to get in to any convo other than lifting while at the gym. Even if one of the trainers is walking by and just saying looking good, I am like what? huh? part of it is my head phones the other is I am busy and just really zoned out in to my lifting. After I am done I can listen and interact, but during I just can't seem to break that zone.
Not something I care to change either :flowerforyou:0 -

I look like hell at the gym....just sayin'. Luckily at my age, no one is going to hit on me anyway...lol Oh, the joy of being middle aged and happily married....0

I went to LA FItness today for the first time with the wife. She was on the ellipticals and I hit the treadmills. I saw about 3 dudes that were basically flexing the entire time and walking around the gym on their cellphones. They would sit at the machines, do a couple of light sets, and just remain there during the entire hour long duration of my workout. Coming from the company gym, I can't say that I liked the atmosphere really, but as long as people stay out of my way and mind their business I'm fine. There was hotties there as well, but I barely noticed, as I was too busy trying not to be fat, lol!0

agree 100% and have the same hot mess experience. i'm there to work not get a date for friday night!0 -
Maybe it's the fact that I go to a military gym (when I actually go) that that kind of thing never happens to me....... lol. Everyone is so focused on actually working out.0

Exactly! Try to hit on me and I will punch you! Not really, but my husband will!0 -
It's really embarrassing but I sweat alot ugh. The worst part is walking away with my hair sticking to my face and neck... How embarrassing. But at least I'm burning fat0
-
I look like hell going in.. Hell, I prob look better on my way out hahahaha0

Look we are there to whip our bodies on some sort of shape for our own( perhaps masochistic) enjoyment. Stare if you'd like. But don't touch.
And if someone is checking you out at the gym, they are obviously not working out hard enough. How do I know this? Because I catch myself admiring a handsome man from time to time and I know I need to kick it up a notch.
And BTW: military gyms are sometimes the worse if you are a girl. That's why I stay away from them if at all possible. Perhaps its just the ones I've been to.0 -

^ I sweat a lot too. I don't really care though, I'd rather be losing weight and sweaty then fat and sweaty. hahahahaha
I enjoy eye candy.
But...if I worry to much about how I look, then I start thinking about everything, and get out of my groove! I think I check out women more than men...seeing how much better I am doing than they are on the machine next to me...tee-hee!
*OH, and sometimes I have a little bit of eye make up leftover....and I end up looking like a racoon. HA!0 -

Me too, don't really have this problem... but i go in my boyfriends old t-shirts and basketball short anyways so no one gets the wrong idea. I don't want any attention while im working out, im beet red, sweaty, stinky and not cute at all. lol0 -
I couldn't agree more gyms are for sweating your *kitten* off, if I don't look like a wreck when i leave then I don't feel like I put the work in. You look like a mess at the gym so you can look great on the weekends!0
-
oh gosh, i feel the same. if i did not look crazy, i would wear sunglasses, but that will probably bring more attention to me, whcihb is what i try to avoid0

Me too, I go to my Zumba class and within a couple of routines my hair is drenched. Everyone else leaves looking much the same as they arrived and I look like I've been swimming. It's just my head, the rest of me sweats normally but my head... jeez!!!0 -
Shots fired!! lol , but I agree...0

I go to the gym to work out and that's it. Sure I see attractive women at the gym and I'll definitely take a quick look, but I certainly wouldn't go beyond that and I wouldn't interrupt anyone to hit on them (especially since I'm happily married). But that being said, you women think that your "hot-mess" look is going to turn us off? Sadly a sweaty woman in her workout outfit is just freaking HOT!0

Same here. And then, too.... being that everyone is out of uniform, none of the guys really know whether you might actually out-rank them.0
