Caffeine Addiction

My family has a definite problem with caffeine. My dad can go through at least one or two pots of coffee before he goes to work and then at least another pot during the work day. My mother goes through a case of Coca Cola a week, and I get looped into the soda frenzy when I come home because they refuse to listen to me when I say don't buy my favorite sodas.

I know my mother drinks them because she has issues sleeping at night and can't seem to wake up any earlier than noon even WITH drinking soda.

I'm just wondering what can we substitute for the amount of coffee and soda that this house goes through? Something healthier but still something that will give the energy boost that they need.

Your mom's lack of sleep is probably BECAUSE of the soda she drinks... the caffeiene stays in her system long enough to cause a problem.

A friend of mine had a lot of luck switching out her first coffee for OJ, and then found she drank less coffee overall.

I still drink nearly a pot, myself.

I'm sure part of her sleep problem is based on the amount of caffeine she consumes. However, there are other things that contribute to her lack of sleep that I'm not comfortable discussing on the message boards. I'll definitely see if I can't get her to but back on pop after dinnertime and see if that helps.
