Feeling discouraged

Ok, so I'm on L2D4 of 30DS and I've been eating around 1200 cals. Why am I NOT losing weight? Ugh!

I originally weighed around 168 in summer. I've gotten myself down to 150 without working out or anything, and now THIS! Ugh. I just don't get it! It's like I'm not meant to weigh less than 150 except I'm NOT supposed to weigh this much...I am only 5'! I've been lingering here for months! UGH!

What can I do to jumpstart some more weightloss?

I didn't lose a lot of weight doing the shred, but I lost a lot of inches. :)

1200 calories may not be enough if you're working out - when I increased my calories (by a couple hundred per day) I started losing again.

Are you exercising at all? It depends on what you're eating, how much you're drinking, and if you're working out. Your body sometimes comes to a plateu where you need to step it up and change something around a lil bit to keep losing. I'd consider yourself lucky to lose that much weight without exercise but I say you might want to start, even if it's just 20 minute walks or something. Also, if you eat a lot of sodium it can add water weight :-) Hope this helps...

I agree. Keep working out but add 200-400 cal/day or at least a few times a week. Give it some time before deciding whether it works or not.

I am on Level 2, Day 2 and I have not lost any weight either. I am 5'1" and I am the same weight. I eat 1200 calories as well. :-) We are just about the same. I am thinking that if I continue with it, then I will lose inches and then eventually lbs. I feel better, and I am eating better. Everything else will come into place after that, but it may take a little longer.

I find drinking extra water helps some. Also, more exercise, if you can. Some of us just can't get down to where those silly BMI charts tell us we need to be. Not fair but true.

Silly exercises to do at work/school:
Potty squats - do 5 squats every time you go.
Water bottle lifts - can do bicep curls, tricep extensions, shoulder presses, lateral raises, etc.
Office laps - walk around the room a few times before sitting down.
Wall pushups any time you like.

Yes, I'm currently doing 30 Day Shred. I'm on Level 2 Day 4. I'm hoping to start Couch 2 5K this evening. I was gonna start it yesterday but some things came...Don't they always? haha I hope that helps!

Couple of things to keep in mind - Muscle weighs more than fat, and if you are burning all those calories and not giving yourself more fuel your body feel like it is starving and shuts off your metabolism. Jump start it by upping you calories - through lean protein and good grains and veggies and fruit - about 3/4 of your exercise calories. Guarrantee you will see weight loss within a week or 2. GUARANTEED
  • Definitely dont give up! Remember that muscle weighs more than fat. Check your measurements for progress rather than your weight. I agree with adding some calories. I eat back some of my exercise calories.

Keep it up! You're doing great!

Go to Diary Settings > Diary Sharing and change it to 'Public' so we can see your diary.

I would say just keep doing what you're doing. As long as your eating right and exercising, the weight will eventually come off. Perseverance is key!! Everyone plateaus you just have to work through it.

I didn't lose that much weight doing 30DS either, but got some great muscle tone. You can't expect a massive result in 30 days of training.
I have to say if you are eating "about" 1200 calories that shows that you might not be being as accurate as you have to be. If you are only 5' you could eat over by even just 200 calories and you wouldn't lose body fat. Its only like a sandwich or a nibble here or there and you won't lose. You have to be very accurate with it.
Also eating clean is very important, 1200 calories of what. Try to switch to high protein and good quality food.
I am a big convert to egg white omeletts, really low cal and really high protein. eat white fish, chicken, egg whites, protein shakes and as many veges as you can stand. Try not to eat much else than that. Some wholegrain rice or sweet potato. You'll get results.

This is exactly how I feel. I mean I'm FEEEEELing better and I'm eating better. My choices weren't the best this past wkends due to some parties, but I still stayed around 1200. It's just frustrating cause I've been here like this for months. I fluctuate between 150-153 and once in a while the scale teases me and says 149, but it never lasts! ugh! I'd be soooo happy to get down to 145 at this point! lol I hope you're right though
