Charming I know ...

A colleague has just had a session with a new PT and at the end threw up his lunch

We have just had an interesting conversation as to whether or not he should still count his lunch (now departed) in his dailly calory intake.

Anyone care to comment?

  • According to what I've heard from doctors and specialists on health shows, if the food is in your body for more than a couple of hours, your body has absorbed the calories from the food and needs to be counted.

I'd probably knock half the calories off, when you exercise hard your body stops digesting for a bit to focus on the exercise I'm told. Probably still digested some of it though.

Most nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine. I think the stomach absorbs alcohol. I guess it depends if he lost it all or not and if he had been drinking.

My rule is, if I swallow, it count it regardless of what happens to it after that.
