    My name is Katherine Elizabeth.

    Katherine; derived from the Greek "Aikaterine", which is of unknown etymology. The most common association is with "katharos", meaning "pure". Hence, many people believe "Katherine" to mean "pure".
    However, "Aikaterine" can also be associate with the Greek word "Aikia", which to my knowledge means "Torture". So Katherine either means "Pure", or "Torture". :)
    If one believed in those things, one might say that the combined meanings were (in hindsight) at least partially prophetic. xD

    Elizabeth; the name is of Hebrew origin, meaning "God's Promise" or "God is my Oath".
