My understanding is that 'good' carbs are those that are natural, ie: from fruits, veggies, and yes, potatoes and whole grains. The 'bad' carbs are those that have been processed (altered) in order to be eated or are very sugary: flour in cakes, white bread, soda, candy, etc.0

bread is best if it's whole grain (meal) and as for the potatoes...eat the skin that's where all the nutrients are located. They aren't the best thing for you to eat but it's a whole lot better than chips or crisps.0

Potatoes have gotten a bit of a bad rap but they're a great source of potassium and a reasonable sized one is really not bad on calories. They are a whole natural food which makes them a good carb in my book! Just don't make potatoes your *only* veggie and don't eat 5 a day.0
