Poor kittehs. I'm ashamed to admit I'm inept at differentiating between cat breeds.

I quite liked this. I never really thought about how true it is.

The ones with no tails are manx cats and they are awesome and the gorilla had on and so did my old roommate and that's why I know this.

Hahahaha I'm a dog person... I have no idea what cat breeds are. But I can name you off random dog breeds, they're fun to say Shiba Inu, Alaskan Klee Kai, Great Pyrenees, etc, etc.

Since this will turn into Cat vs. Dog I am preemptively saying .... can't we all just get along?

I have a cat and have always had cats, and I cannot tell a difference. Cats are so superior that they could really give a **** what we think about them.

As a total cat person, I am guilty of this.

I'm a cat person- and I could not identify any type of dog except a golden retriever. everything else is just a dog.

It all depends on the person and there is certainly no need to be starting any arguments.

I do know cat breeds....I'm a proper crazy cat lady. (In training, technically.)
Like that cat with the bull dog looks like an Abyssinian.
  • I work in the pet industry so I have to be able to rattle off a few breeds of both cats and dogs: American shorthair, Siamese, Manx, Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Persian, Himalyan (cats); Westie, Schauzer, Labrador, Golden Retreiver, all of the different 'doodles, shi-tzu, burmese mtn dog, belgian malinois, etc etc etc....

    I R Smrt. :P

Cat person checkin in :-) by this i mean I am owned by two cats. A calico, and her daughter, who is pure black. Weird.

My brother is owned by a devon rex, and my mom is lokking to get a scottish fold.

Sorry, to me, DOG=loud, messy, drooly. My sis in law has a bloody Newf, 170 pounds, thinks he's a lap dog.

I have two goldens and a lab mix. I also have 4 cats. LOL

In my defense, all my cats have been adopted from rescues or shelters and I got them based on personality, not breed. And they are all mutts.

    THUMBS WAY UPPP!!!
  • I work in a veterinary medical diagnostic laboratory in the pathology lab area, and on our papers for each case we do, there are places for species where the client circles canine/feline/equine, etc, and then a blank 'specific' area where they write in things like "German Shep" "Golden Retr" "Jack Russel" etc etc...

But if they circle feline, you nearly always see one of three things:
    DSH
    DMH
    DLH

Domestic short hair, domestic medium hair, and domestic long hair. Just 'classes' of cats, haha.

OCCASIONALLY we'll see maine coon, ragdoll, persian, but very rarely, haha.
  • Haha lol
  • I can name most dog breeds, I can name most purebred cats (I don't have a "cat" I have a "Maine Coon x Domestic Medium Hair mix"), and do not get me started on horse breeds. XD I can usually look at a horse and make a rough guesstimate of its breed AND its genotype, and even a couple sire lines. I've also never owned a horse and have only ridden a handful of times. Problem? Nahhhh.
