You never stop!

I was talking to my sister the other night and she was saying that she's jealous of the weight I've lost (in a supportive way) and is so happy for me but really wants it for herself. Her exact words were:
"I want to lose weight but I always stop and can never stick to it..."
It got me thinking about the reason behind my success so far - and ANYONE'S success - and I think it comes down to an understanding about how our weight loss journeys never, ever end.
I said to her that you don't ever stop. Each day you have choices, and you make them. These choices make you gain/lose weight on that specific day, but there's nothing to give up. Just control your choices.
She was happy with that at least and suggested I pass it along. I think it helps to look at your weight loss journey this way because it doesn't feel like a damned mountain you have to climb from the bottom to the top. Focus on each step along the way. Each step is a day. You'll get there

Thanks, I needed that right now. I'm at my calorie limit for the day, but I'm eyeing that ice cream, and I have to make a choice: long-term goal or instant gratification? I choose the former, because the ice cream will be there tomorrow and I can earn it with a nice run.0
