I was wondering is it better to exercise before or after breakfast in the mornings? I am doing the 17 day diet, so I am not currently eating carbs... not sure if that matters or not....

Thanks!!! :):flowerforyou:

was gonna comment on the no carbs thing, but I'll keep my opinions about that, exercise when it makes you feel good. I've tried fasted cardio and sometimes I felt good, other times not. don't do fasted strength, eat some protein before drink plenty water as well.
  • I like to jog 2 miles in the morning on an empty stomach. I really don't think it matters too much when you do it though. Good luck with the no carbs.
  • I usually do cardio exercises or an empty stomach, not saying it's good or bad but it's what works for me. Go with what makes you comfortable.

When I get the chance to work out in the morning I do it on an empty stomach followed by a protein shake and then regular breakfast. I thought it would hinder my performance but it doesn't seem to have any negative effects.

I definitely need my carbs when I work out! Whew.. Good luck! I personally like to eat before and wait an hour or so before I work out.

Depends on the person, and on the exercise.

I used to jog before breakfast, and had no problems with that. But strength training on an empty stomach made me dizzy and nauseous. So I'll have a piece of fruit, or toast with peanut butter, if I'm doing a strength class first thing.

Cardio usually needs carbs - you may find that is an issue for your body.

I beleive for general weight loss first thing in the morning before food would be your best bet.

But having said that after eating would be fine also, the difference is very minor. A burnt calorie is a burnt calorie regardless

I just checked my food log from yesterday, I had 84 carbs, so not no carbs, just low lol sorry I was mistaken, just started the 17 day diet with all it's cycles trying to learn to eat better........so this low carb time is just for 17 days to detox from eating nothing but junk my whole life.....Thank you for all the quick responses :)
