what's the most difficult part of being healthy for you?

for me, it's forcing myself to slowly drink a glass or two of water and wait 20 minutes to feel full after a meal, so that i don't go and have another meal or snack immediately because i'm used to a much larger quantity of food. the waiting is the hardest part.

If you were constantly drinking water, you wouldn't have to do that. I just feel that's a wasted practice. Keep a water bottle on you and just drink water all day. When you're hungry, you'll know it's real hunger.
For me, it's not going over board. When I treat myself, I tend to go overboard.0 -
For me drinking more water is a challenge and also portion control.0

Not being able to eat cookies and such (which I do anyway)...and knowing that I have cals left.0

Cutting out the sugar is the hardest part. I was eating 2 candy bars a day before I started dieting and I miss my sweets.0

Making sure that I eat enough. When I am on a health kick, I tend to reduce my calories too much. But I know that healthier eating is a lifestyle change for my whole life, so I need to find a balance between not going overboard and not starving myself.0

i do drink water throughout the day, at least 9 or 10 cups, more when i factor in coffee and green tea. it's just the concept of the plate of less food, though nutrient dense and full of fiber, that my brain needs to reconcile as "enough to fill me up".
i go overboard when i treat myself too... but i try to make relatively healthy treats, like arctic zero or pb2 chocolate rather than my danger indulgences.0 -
alcohol and i used to be such great friends but i've been seeing a lot less of her lately :'[ i sit there and input it into mfp and then realize my laziness trumps my desire for another cocktail.
......... though i have totally wandered around tipsy at *kitten* o'clock in the morning just to burn off an extra drink.0 -
Trying not to eat out. Nothing better than dropping a 150 dollars on some great food and wine out.0

My hardest part is also cutting out sugar. I have the worst sweet tooth. I just started MFP seriously about a week ago. I still let myself slide and accommodate enough calories for a fun size candy which helps me curb that urge.0

Making the time to eat healthy, working full time, grand daughter living with us part time, i feel like i'm back on the new mother wheel where i'm going 90 mph all the time. having healthy meals takes time and effort, so it's very challenging for me right now to plan ahead and make sure we aren't falling back to unhealthy quick meal solutions.0

Picking up heavy weights is one of the hardest things I do.

I can so relate to the missing baking - baking is my life and what picks me up again if life gets stressful. My only solution is to bake half batches, have one muffin/cookie whatever it is as a treat and pack the rest up to take to work! Also, instead of baking sweet treats I have branched out into baking bread, flatbreads, wholegrain pizzas etc ... so that my baking fits better into my normal eating habits ... that way I can then also go totally overboard when baking cakes for friends' birthdays!0

i miss it too. i have a little list started of all of the "energy bars" and "protein bites" i'm going to make. i'm scared they'll be a trigger once they're done though. maybe we need a little bakers support group.0 -

sweets are my downfall, but the more i stay away from them the less i am craving them. my hardest time is TOM. This months TOM was a lot better this month with self control.0

Fitting it in when at work. I do 12 hour shifts cleaning so need to keep energy levels up. Find it difficult to drink at work apart from on breaks so know it will be a problem drinking 8 cups of water.0

Every damn thing! Healthy is hard work, thats how you know its the right decision. Its easy to be fat and eat bad crap, anybody can do that!0

I work in an environment where we arent allowed to drink whilst working. Water is available but it means leaving the job to go have some, really dificult.0

the most difficult part of being healthy for me is explaining to all my friends and family how i can still be losing weight while eating at minimum 2,500 calories a day and not cutting out things like carbs and sweets.0

I love going out to eat and I love "good" beer and wine! I can't completely give them up so I try to limit myself to once weekly.0

Weekends!! During the week I have routine, but on weekends there is no regularity, making it hard to stay on track.0

The hardest thing for me is a tough one. I work where there is constantly junk food around. I'm a bread/pasta/dairy/sweets fanatic. I LOVE to cook and constantly crave the "fluffy" stuff . However I do drink between 8-12 cups of water a day beacuse I stay thirsty all the time.0

As a college student living at home, I find it's easier for me to eat healthy on the weekends than when I have classes. On Mondays and Wednesdays I'm at school from 8:30-6:30 and it's really hard to find something good to eat- usually since I don't want to spend money, I'll bring a small snack, but I still get really hungry and end up overdoing it when I get home that night. I also need to break my addiction to caffeine. It's tough because being at school that long I need something for energy and without something healthy like fruit or granola I end up getting some coffee, which is probably just a bunch of empty calories
I also have trouble drinking a lot of water, but I've found lately that no matter how much I drink I start feeling dehydrated (mouth dry, parched, chapped lips) within a few hours. And the water at my college tastes TERRIBLE. Eww. Like rust.0 -

For me Starting was the hardest part. But I'm feeling so much heather now it's getting easier. I read the book Choose to lose (carb cycling) hardest part is thinking up low carb dinners. as for water I freeze a 1/2 full liter water bottle and keep it with me all day I refill it when needed and I drink water with all meals..0
