Just keep doing it......every time you do it you will get a little farther and then one day you'll finish it. It is a tough one!

    just keep on doing it
eventually you will be able to finish it!
  • I am halfway through the 30 day shred and I run, so I thought why not do a little more, started the fat burn met boost DVD and collapsed in a heap after 30 mins calling jillian all the names uned the sun......

I guess the idea is to just keep going a bit more each time but it made me feel crap for a while, now I am going to keep at it until a nail the ba****d.......
  • i just ordered it on amazon. will have a go at it and see what it's like! i am an aerobics instructor so this should be fun :-)
  • Oh la la! I'm so intrigued! Guess, I need to look into this video...sounds like a GOOD one!

BTW, keep at it...you are doing great for completing it the next day!

That's actually pretty awesome that you found a challenging workout DVD. Now you'll definitely get your money's worth doing the video until you master it, and you shouldn't get bored too quickly. Best wishes

There are over 600 skeletal muscles in the human body. Every different form of activity will only work a small subset of them. This is why we have to continually change out workout regimes for overall fitness.

As a side note: I suspect that one exercise that works the majority of muscle groups all at once is climbing.

your using different muscles. I was in training for a marathon. Running 8 miles or more a day. when i played basket ball with my friend i could not belive how winded i got. a steady run is not the same as a all out sprint.

It's something about Jillian Micheals! She kicks my butt every time. I have to stop partway through and get a drink of water every time. I just can't keep up.
Keep working at it, it will get easier!

Don't get discouraged!!! Use it as motivation to keep going. You are using totally different muscles doing circuit training than you are when you are running! The more you keep at it, the easier it will get.

That is a really tough workout - no matter how often I do it or how much I feel I've improved, it kicks my butt! I usually push through it, but if I've been lagging, or if I'm short on time, sometimes I keep my remote close by and just do each circuit once rather than twice - just hit the fwd button to skip to the next "chapter" and it takes you to the next circuit. Stick with it, you will get stronger!

Are you using a heart rate monitor? I discovered that as long as I keep my heart rate below 170 I can keep going, sometimes at a little lower intensity, until I don't feel like barfing, then step it up again. Occasionally I stop completely and drink water/squeegie sweat off. Just my own experience, but I think doing the entire routine, but at a lower heart rate for now, is better than doing a circuit or two at max effort and quitting early. Better for conditioning both cardio and strength.
