Hello! before you continue reading if you have ANY negative comments please dont continue..I started using MFP about 6 months ago.. I lost 30 lbs with hard work and dedication to my weight loss..! before MPF i lost about 15 lbs..I decided to start completely over.. delete my old account and start fresh. I was on Phentermine a few years ago and had luck with it but was only on it for 30 days. The 30 lbs i lost completely on my own.. and since then ive just been stuck. So I decided to give it another shot and try phentermine along with a combo of b12 injections and liprotropic injections i think? I have my first appointment tommorrow for a 30 day treatment plan to kick start my weightloss again and help me push through this annoying plateo!!!!!! I however have not gained any weight that i had previously lost..! Anyways Im just looking for people who are on MFP who are using phen, b12 injections and lipotropic..I would love your expierience and just an overall support group.. I know the side effects of phen are sometimes hard to deal with on your own! I decided to start a new group of friends on MFP with my phentermine experience and need some overall support. Please add me!!! :) and tell me how you started and how much youve lost.. bad and good things.. but please do not tell me bash on my post..! Thanks !!! jessie xoxoxo <3

You look great I don't see the need for all that. I'm curious to see your results. Good luck!

Two things: I don't know that you'll find many people on MFP that use these products, and you really can't post a thread on a public internet forum and say, "You can't bash me!"

Because let me tell you sweetheart, Phentermine is glorified prescription speed and using it is quite possibly the stupidest thing you can do to your body.

My mom has done something similar a few times in the past. Not sure if it's exactly the same, but it sounds like it. She would lose the weight pretty quickly but it never stayed off. Whenever she stopped taking it, the weight came back on. Might not be that way for everyone, but that was her experience. Good luck with whatever you end up doing.
  • I was on it for 4 months and lost wayyyy too much lol

I did the injections and the phentermine, beginning at the lowest dose and working my way up. My doctor would keep track of my progress and blood test me every month but I was losing way too quickly to actually keep it off. I lost 78lbs and ended up gaining them all back and then some. No side effects for me. And I responded well to them. I'm not on them now but I'd do it again. Just this time, I'd go a little easier on myself lol. I was going to the gym 6x a week and on a strict low calorie, high protein diet. It's no wonder I lost so much in such little time. But my blood work was always fine. I just think it was too much, in too little time. And I didn't practice any maintenance.

its not negative to advise you that this product can be dangerous. I wouldnt do it. be careful
  • I took Phentermine in 2006 and dropped 47 lbs in 6 mos. I went from a size 18 to a size 9/10. Since then, I have gained all of it back and then some. I went to a new dr. to start phentermine again. I started on the 6th and have lost 9 lbs so far. I just started working out last week. With the added effects of working out, my results should start doubling!

I can go get b12 injections I just haven't yet. How does the b12 help you, can you actually tell the difference when you do or dont get one. The hardest thing about this is when the phentermine is gone....it's hard to stay as dedicated and eat healthy when not taking the meds.....

I used to lose weight with speed too. It worked wonders! Until... I became hopelessly addicted to the amphetamines, lost everything and everyone in my life, and ended up in rehab. It did make me skinny though! Oh except I gained 100 lbs when I got clean too, ouch.
  • But btw, I don't think a doctor would give them to you considering what little weight you need to lose. He gave them to me because I was over 100lbs overweight. Any good doctor would blood test you first and be realistic about using them.

I appreciate your honesty. Hopefully your experience will encourage others to make wise decisions.
  • Phentermine was banned in the UK 12 years ago. That is enough to put me off, no matter how much weight it might help me lose.

Sorry, not what you wanted to hear I know :(
  • I have used B12 shots as I am vitamin B defficent, and I like the way it makes me feel. However, I tried Phentermine for four days ... worst four days of my life. I broke out, thought I was going to die of a heart attack, and couldn't sleep. It was horrible. I know you said you didn't want anything negative, but this is real talk.

Yes, you can post a thread and ask people to refrain from being negative.

Whether people will respect your wishes is another thing.

I would be very careful. I used the same method to lose weight before. I was a total monster because of the way the pills effected me emotionally/physically and although I lost the weight I just wasn't eating enough. Please be careful, even if you have done it before I suggest to stop doing it after 30 days and have some time in between months that you take them. They can really be bad for your heart/health. The only reason I am posting is because I took them for too long and had a bad experience. Just don't want to see you get addicted to them and turn into a monster like I did!

Think of it in these terms....would you rather have more body fat or more muscle mass?

If you want more fat and less muscle, (aka Skinnyfat) - than go for it.

If you like your current lean muscle, than I suggest you stay the hell away from that crap. :flowerforyou:

I was an avid Phen abuser. I would yo-yo on and off of it for a year at a time b/c my body would become addicted to it, and it would stop working.
I did the B12 & lipo shots too, but the weight never stayed off. I did lose while on it, until my body became addicted, then I would stop and gain a couple lbs back.
I like the B12 & lipo shots, but when the nurse practitioner told me what they really were, I couldn't justify the $25 for them.
    Basically Vitamin Pee!!
What your body doesn't use, you end up urinating out, which is why it appears that you have lost a bunch weight--it's basically waer weight.

I abused Phen on and off for about 15 yrs.
I LOVED the side effects--dry mouth (kept me drinking water ALL the time), insomnia ( I could stay up for days it seemed), moody (I could FINALLY tell people what I really thought without regard to what they thought)--this turned out to be a BIG negative attribute for my character.
The only thing I hated about it was the CRASH when it wore off. I hated crashing off of it. I really hated when it stopped working each time.

The only way I can keep my weight off is through running & proper nutrition.

I would probably NEVER take Phen again. It is too emotional for my taste now.

Best of luck if you do decide to try it :)

I have been on the Medi Weight Loss program for a year and have taken Phentermine off and on. I also get B12 injections weekly because it is a high protein and extreme low-carb diet. I am not sure what liprotropic is. When I started Medi in January 2011 I was over 300 lbs. The doctor started me on a natural appetite suppressant until I had a stress test done. The center did a medical work-up on me and from the EKG saw that I could have possibly had a small heart attack at one time in my life, but they could not pinpoint when. My stress test was within "normal limits" according to my general practitioner. She gave me the thumbs up on Phendimetrazine, which is what they started me on. I was skeptical about any appetite suppressants, but I have been under very reputable doctors care. I do not abuse it. Truthfully, I couldn't take the Phendimetrazine long. It made me feel bad in general. I felt my heart fluttering and pressure on my shoulder blades at times. It's wonderful for suppressing appetite. But, I am extremely sensitive to medication and have never taken much more than ibuprofin. I was only taking about 1/4 of the dose and it was working great. I didn't want food. But after a while of it building up in my system, I just felt bad. I noticed quite a difference almost immediately when I stopped it. They continued to run EKG's on me and I was clear. Now, I take Phentermine (15mg) off and on. I don't take it every day. I've been told that it is like a child's dose and is timed release. After while, I feel almost the same feeling I did with the Phendimetrazine, but not as bad. So, I take it every other day. Some days I take one in morning and 1 around 11 a.m., no later than noon. Some days I take only 1 in morning. Some days, like today I take a green tea fat burner that is all natural, in the morning and no Phentermine. I have been under my doctors care all year and WOULD NOT recommend ANYONE take these products, or any appetite suppressant without CLOSE doctor supervision. They have been helpful tools. I do not abuse them and am very aware of how much I am taking and that I am taking them as I have been directed.

I am working on taking my weight off for life. I lost 100 lbs. last year. That's about 2 lbs. a week, a healthy loss. I have a little ways to go until maintenance. If I go back to the way I was eating when I was 300 lbs plus, my weight will come back. Doesn't take rocket science to figure that out. There are NO MAGIC PILLS. If you approach this product as a tool and use it as such, to lose your weight only, it will work for you. I can't judge what will work or won't work for you. I have eaten a significant amount of substantial protein during the year, which helps prevent loss of lean muscle mass. It also helps keep you feeling fuller, longer, which may work for you without the pill. Only you and your doctor can judge that. I am eating healthier now than I have for most of my life when I was eating out of control and stuffing myself. I hope I helped by sharing my experience. I can just tell you, in my case, it was a great help and I feel that I have had terrific doctors helping me to get this weight off and reverse my diabetes and get fit for the first time in my life.

Thanks. I was abusing a different prescription amphetamine but it is in the same class of drugs. I ended up using 20X the prescribed dose daily just to get the same effects as my body became so tolerant to it. I obviously know most people's results aren't like mine but it's not like I planned to end up that way and the abuse potential is definitely there. It's not like I decided one day that I would do that, it just gradually happened over time and spun out of control.

I used it for the first two weeks of MFP . I loved the energy it gave me and it helped me make a major cut in calories. My doctor would not prescribe more and I really didnt need it. I do get the B12 shots. I lose weight very slowly and i am not sure what kind of difference the shots make. I have very low energy and l like to think the B12 shots give me more energy. I have lost 15 lbs in 90 days so you can see I am not going crazy plus I have 100 + to lose.
