Just curious to know what your goal is being similar height to mine.... I have dropped almost 20 lbs but with my chest being a little larger should my goal / BMI weight really be less than 130 lbs at 5 feet 2 inches? ?? I mean I have my goal set at 140 (currently 154) I think I would be happy! I am turning 32 this year and a mother of 2 children I am not looking to be a skinny size 3/5 who is going to show off my body at the beach in a 2 piece bikini or anything... I would be happy at a size 9-10 and a flat tummy so I don't push my husbands hands off my belly anymore! Make sense? ???? Talk to me people
I always ask wehre is the mexican BMI chart??

lol.... i'm 5' 3" and have the same problem. I would have to say that it isn't realistic. You need to pick a goal that works for you. If you are happy then it doesn't matter what the suggested is.

I'm shooting for 130, and if I find that easy to maintain, I might even go to 120.
140 is not a bad goal. 140 is still better than 200 or 180 or 160...
I say, only lose what you are willing to maintain.0 -
i am divorced now, but i remember those days.... of pushing my ex's hands off my tummy. i hated him touching it since it wasn't flat anymore ( after having 5 kids in 7.5 yrs).
if you're comfortable at a 9/10 then i say do it! all that matters is that YOU are comfortable with YOUR body. if you get to 9/10 and still don't want him touching you there, then go for more.
that's what i would do.0 -
I am 5'2" with large ones as well. The BMI charts want me to be about 115-120. That's just crazy talk. That is too skinny for my frame. The last time I was 115 I was 21 and a size 3. Too thin for me. My goal is 130. I am 166 right now.0

I am 5'2" and currently 130 pounds. I am a C/D cup size. 130 pounds will put you at roughly a size 8, depending on where you carry it. I carry mine on my thighs, and it is the most stubborn place on my body for losing fat. Speaking from experience 120 pounds is unrealistic. I am married with no children and the only time I can maintain that weight is when I am deployed (currently in the Air Force.) 140 is realistic. You will still have a little weight, but it will not be overly unhealthy.
BMI is also inaccurate. It does NOT take into account muscle mass. I recently went through a test called the BodPod. It measures your muscle to fat ratio. If you are a member of a gym, I would recommend requesting a measurement in a similar device. This machine is evil, but will give you a realistic and accurate measure of how you carry your weight and how much you need to gain/lose in order to be within a certain body fat percentage.
138 pounds put me at 38.0% body fat(Excess Fat). I am currently 131 pounds with a body fat percentage of 33.5. I am in the Excess Fat range. As females we should not have any more than 30% ideally. We need to shoot for the 22.1-30%(Moderately Lean), 18.1-22%(Lean). Since you are not trying for the super hot ideal body you shouldn't need to go that low.
FYI: I work out so I can eat. I am small because I lift weights and do cardio at least 3 times (mostly 5) times a week. When deployed working out is one of the few forms of entertainment :P0
