I just did my first Zumba class. DANG!!!! It's FUN!!!! And although I proved once again I have NO rhythm and dance like a chained elephant, I was smiling ear to ear the whole time! Gotta go again.
...oh...and the 800 calories burned don't hurt none, either!!!

Isn't it fun! Its my favorite form of exercise! I also probably leave something to be desired dance-wise, but I just hoped it made people not want to watch me!0

Zumba is waaayyy fun!! I'm the same way, no rythym whatsoever. :laugh:0

I have said that I've never had so much fun doing something so badly!

they just started a class at my gym. What is it??0

Zumba is a latin dance class or as my instructor says "fitness class" You don't have to know how to dance or just shake it like it's nobodies business and sweat and smile. I have been going two times a week, but I just found out that there is another class on Wednesdays that I wilil be adding in. It flies by and it's a great workout. You push yourself as hard as you like. I sweat more at that class than I do on my 3 mile walks or the time I spend on the eliptical.
EVERYBODY SHOULD TRY IT, IT'S ADDICTIVE!0 -
I love Zumba!! I went today!! It felt like a big party!!0

I'm so jealous! I want a Zumba class so bad! I don't have a gym membership, but I would pay the non-member price, just to go to that class a few times a week. I love dancing (and shakin' it
)! Oh well, I guess it's the downside of living in a small town. :grumble:

I love zumba. I feel like I have much energy after the class.
I go 3 times a week. I wish I can take it 5 days a week but my gym does not have it every day.
Hip hop is good too. Since you have to remember the routine, you mind got a work out also.0 -
Zumba is my favorite way to exercise! It really does feel like a party, not a workout! By the time I leave I am soaking in sweat!
Love it!0 -
Anybody know of anyplace online that has a Zumba video (for those of us that don't have a gym)???0
-
Yes, Zumba is AWESOME!!! I have been doing it since Feb 9 of this year!0
-
sometimes Ebay has the dvd cheap...just gotta keep a look out....you should go to a class though!0
-
Zumba.com has the videos on sale. I also recommend getting to a class with an awesome instructor. You will never want to do zumba in your living room again!0
-

I saw the videos, in brief. The moves will definitely get you sweating and give you a good workout. I didn't enjoy it as well as my class at the Y though!!! I agree, if you can find a fun instructor, that is the best way to go!!0 -
how did you lose 5 lbs?0

-
you should buy the DVDs and do it at home! Its still very fun0
-
since Zumba was cancelled at my gym, I started doing the Jazzercise and boot camp class... So, I'm still having fun and getting my butt kicked.... But I really miss Zumba!0
-
i love Zumba, too.......I don't belong to the gym anymore, but I think it depends on the instructor! I had to get to the gym 30 min before class to get in if I wanted this specific teacher....I never sweat so much in my life, but the hour went by so fast!
Darn, I wish I belonged to that gym!!!!!!0 -
I have been doing zumba a year now. I had lost about 8 lbs then gained it back when I had to take a break from zumba from pulling my achilles. I commit to zumba twice a week and am trying to eat better. Have not lost any weight but one lb, but that is ok with me, for now....I am trying to eat better. So-hoping that will help that scale go downwards instead up upwards. Now with the weather turning nicer to, I hope to start walking in my neighborhood again, one mile a day, twice a week. WISH ME LUCK!0

I love it but sadly the gym I go to packs in WAY too many people - I had to leave in 1/2 hour because NO ROOM  - folks came late and squished in all around me:explode: . If I had to stretch out my arms I was going to hit the person next to me:embarassed: .
Frustrating and I didn't want to hit nobody so I went to the eliptical instead.
I want to get the videos but in person it's fun:laugh:0 -
Im going to a Zumba Madness event tomorrow! Im so excited I have heard its awesome! we will see....:flowerforyou:0

My gym has Zumba and I hear that class is PACKED! I'd like to try it but I'm a little intimidated by the crowds when I'm so uncoordinated! :blushing:
A friend's daughter is in a competition dance group and her dance instructor also teaches Zumba classes in her studio on Friday nights. I might got there (it's smaller with fewer folks) to get started and see how I like it. If you don't have a gym membership, try calling local dance studios to see if they offer a Zumba class. It's possible they do and you could try it out there. :happy:0
