What is a good daily net calories to strive for that will be healthy, yet lose weight?

I am 5'11" currently weigh 164 # & do some sort of exercise everyday...walk 6 miles, and/or do kettlebell, or swimm 1/2 to 1 mile. I want to make sure I am taking enough in on the days I really work out. Just want to get a handle on a decent range so I do not go too far under as there are days I am not hungry & force myself to hit 1200 Cal.0
