Hi, my name is Kerri. I started excercising, gave up sodas, and started trying to eat healthier at the beginning of the year when the scale laughed at me. I was weighing 261, which was quite unhealthy for a 5' 10" 34 yr old woman. I have been going to the gym pretty much everyday since 1/3/2012 and have dropped to 241 - 243. My motivation is starting to fade as the pounds are not dropping like they initially were. I have been playing the 241 - 243 up & down range for a little over a week now.
My goal is to reach 225 by April 18th when I go with my son on his band trip and then reach 200 by July 18th to go on vacation to my boyfriend's home in LA & TX.

I haven't lost anything for 2 weeks. Don't let it get you down! Did you do measurements before you started?0

welcome aboard! there are MANY friendly people on here that offer LOADS of help and motivation! i'm relatively new too, but most people will let you view their diaries for help on recipes and other things you can eat...i know what i do is use this calorie keeper on here and ask anything you are not sure about...drink lots of water and exercise...my mom is 62 and she has lost like 36 pounds and has now hit a plateau...he advice to ME is to KEEP GOING!!! she said to try other forms of exercise and use differeny muscle groups to help keep your motivation up...feel free to add me if you like...i'll help as much as i can....:)0

I've found it's easy to lose in the first week, then it slows right up. Don't get discouraged0

I did not do measurements as I'm not sure where to measure. Any advice will be great. Thanks everyone for the friend requests0

Welcome to the forum! I highly suggest getting as many friends as possible, they are the best at helping you stay commited. If youd like, you can send me a request. For measurements, check google for some suggestions on how to measure. The most important thing is to do it the same way every time0

All I did was measure my bust, hips, waist and thighs. I recorded it with the date and then remeasured a month later. Big changes to the measurements, but not the scale.0

I feel your pain...the first 19 lbs melted off me (started off the New Year at 219 & hit 200 last Saturday), but this morning I was so discouraged to see that I didn't lose anything in the last week I know it'll pick back up, just maybe not at the same pace, but it definitely effected my mood this morning.
Keep at it, the folks here are great and sometimes it just helps to know that you're not the only one going through the bumps & hard spots. I look forward to seeing you around :flowerforyou:0 -
I was so bummed this morning that I did the treadmill for 84.76 mins & burned 1000 calorie juburst to get my frustration out. I usually burn between 600 & 800 daily & do some weight machines.0
