It's not working for me.

I read everyone else's posts and how successful they have been and I have not had the same success. I log everything I eat, work out at least 6 days a week for about 90 minutes everyday, and have a job where I am on my feet all day. I have been on this site for about 7-8 weeks and have seen a loss of 2 lbs. I do eat some of my exercise calories because if not I only get to eat 1200 calories and am starving at the end of the day. But, I try to leave 200-300 extra at the end of the day. What am I doing wrong?

Try eating more! If you are starving by the end of the day, something is wrong.

You're not eating enough. I did the same exact routine in the begining and couldn't understand what was wrong. I upped my cals to 1400-1600 (sometimes higher if I burn a lot of cals) now I am 23 lbs down.

    Eat more or exercise less.

You are not providing your body with enough fuel for the level that you are working out.

I just saw your profile and you have like 8lbs to lose, so of course you will lose at a slower pace than a person who has 100 lbs to lose. Keep at it, exercise and drink lots of water.

I totally agree with this.. eat more (or) exercise less!!

I was 4-5 pounds down last month.. all I did was 90 mins of exercise for every week and 1200 cals of food every day..
thats all and it worked and working like a charm...

    Good luck!!!:)

I have to agree with the other posters. I know it is scary to eat more, as we've been told to eat less to lose weight, but it really does work. Especially since your working out so much! Try bumping your calories a few hundred and see what happens. If your not losing now, what harm can it do? Best of luck!!

This exactly. Your weight loss is right on target for the amount you have to lose... But you can eat a LOT more than you are to get the same results. Make sure you're set to lose .5# a week (which is what you're losing anyway) and eat all your calories, plus most of your exercise calories.

If you eat too little, you're going to burn up your muscle, which means that you won't look as lean when you reach your goal weight as you want to look. Plus, you're going to be hungry and miserable, and when you start eating normal again, the weight will come right back on and bring friends. I know, because I did the same thing.

Check this thread of mine, and see the difference 130# looks on me when I wasn't eating enough years ago, vs how I look now eating twice as much. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/494091-i-just-don-t-care-anymore

Honestly, if you start eating more, getting the right nutrients and add strength training, you'll probably get the body you want without losing another pound.

I'm NOT starving. If I only eat the 1200 calories I would be starving. That is why I exercise, so I can eat the extra calories. I feel satisfied by the time the day is over.

Without being able to see your diary, I suspect you aren't eating enough. The goal is to your calories remaining (at the bottom of your food diary) as close to zero as possible. Having 200, 300 or more calories leftover at the end of the day is probably creating too large of a deficit.

Also, the closer you are to your goal weight the slower you will lose weight.

I agree with eating more. I also work out 6 days a week and take two morning group fitness classes back to back. I burn 12-1800 calories a day (according to my Polar FT40 HRM that is AWESOME), The first week, I ate 1200 calories, then my body snapped into place like a rubber band....wasn't tired working out (i was injured for 10 months) and I was basically starving at the end of the day also. Your metabolism speeds up and you need to eat smaller meals MORE OFTEN. So....instead of eating two or three times a day I now eat 5 times a day averaging 1500 calories instead of 12. That is about the same amount I burn. In 17 days I have lost 7lbs and one inch. 3lbs and the one inch came just this past week. Also, try to eat at the same time everyday. Keeping your body on a schedule also helps with metabolism.
