Why am I seeing an advertisement on the side of these pages with a banana and a caption..... "Foods you should never eat". Should I be eating bananas in my effort to lose weight?? I have one a day and sometimes 2. Should I be avoiding them?

eat them before or after a workout but I wouldn't go overboard. If you're worried about it, just eat it as I mentioned. I had one today before my workout. I do not really eat them otherwise. They are not bad for you, they just have high carbs/sugars. If you aren't worried about that then you are fine to eat them.0

In your weight loss efforts, calories and then macros are all that matter, the names of the foods you eat to meet those are not. So continue eating your bananas, and maintain a caloric deficit0

I love bananas. I eat them all the time and I'm dropping the fat still. Go for it!0

Ha, the banana ad just popped up for me too. I still eat them - usually one right before or after a workout.0

Yes..I believe you can eat bananas. I love them. Bananas did not make me fat! Just count them in your food diary.0

Yes, eat bananas. Mmm now I want one.0 -
I'm dropping weight well and I'll have a banana with breakfast. I think the issues is that they're so high in carbs and sugar. But, I think it's calorie intake is what matters.0

Don't believe everything you read. Bananas are high in potassium and are fantastic for you. Just don't eat too many, they also cause constipation in large doses.0

If you like them and can fit them into your calories and macros - go for it!0

I'm at the point that I NEED my morning banana or I'm just not right0

Bananas are fine And yummy! I have bananas all the time, but I try to eat other fruits instead because they're usually around 100 calories each and don't fill me up the way 50 calories worth of strawberries, etc. would haha.0

I eat a banana every morning before I run. I always log them.0

I eat at least one banana every day.
I've shed 130+ pounds and 100 inches, 19.25 of which came off my waist.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that bananas didn't cause my belly to be fat, nor did they prevent my belly from becoming small.0 -

~ Always so matter of fact ! I concur with whatever he says ! Ha !0 -
No bananas, because bananas taste terrible to me.
I suppose if I ate nothing but bananas I'd lose weight because I'd hate eating.0 -
I eat 4-5 bananas a week and am losing lots of fat.0

Those people telling us not to eat bananas are probably the same ones who think the best way to lose weight is to drink some loaded-with-crap meal substitute shake three times a day0

bananas are fine....ignor the sidebars and ads0

Exactly!! I eat them because of the potassium, and because they really help my tummy feel better if I'm really hungry between meals.0 -
Be careful as you can overdose on potassium! I wouldn't do more than one or two a day! Potassium overdose affects your heart.0

Those ads are trying to get you to click by saying something outrageous that you can't believe. Don't believe them. I wouldn't click on ads that try to manipulate you that way, either.0

i eat bananas all the time! theyre great for after a workout because they replenish your potassium which is needed in building muscle! and they're delicious too0

I'm not going to lie. For a while I had completely given up banana's and I used to eat 1 about everyday. I heard all about the carbs AND about the sugar.....and yes it kind of alarmed me. But for me, now I realize sugars in fruits and veggies aren't really the culprit. It's all the processed sugars and I am very careful about that. Fruit and veggies, they're good for you (and me too!)0

I seriously doubt you could eat enough bananas to endanger your health from over potassium... my MIL has that issue, and it is caused by her medications.
Yams, potatoes, and carrots also contain potassium.
I love bananas... have some every day, generally.0 -
Me likey APPLE BANANAS...yummerooski!!0

I eat a banana every day for a mid morning snack. I know they have sugar and carbs, but they are also packed with potassium and fiber - I like the boot they give me to get through to lunch. If all you are worrying about is a calorie deficit, I would still eat them.0
-
I only eat my bananas frozen so that my body burns more calories while heating them up.0

THIS! I limit my sugar intake, unless its from fruit and veggie sources (w/ all the fruit and veggies i eat, i almost always go over my limit). So enjoy your bananas!! (as i typed this i saw the banana ad as well).0 -
Weird Al Yankovic can't be wrong:
Have a banana, have a whole bunch
It doesn't matter what you had for lunch
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it0 -
i eat my bananas... wait... that doesn't sound right.
i meant the fruit. :P0
