I would really like to get a heart rate monitor, or other device that could help me track my calories.

What brands do you trust? And what is their price range?

Are there any other devices that could help track calories and fitness besides HRM or pedometer?

I just bought A Polar FT7 off ebay for about $100 with shipping, and I'm really happy with it so far!

I shopped around, i really like Polar the best, I also have the FT7, its great. Mine is red, goes faster! :D
The model down i think only has the plastic strap and doesn't store as many exercise entries.
  • FT7 , got mine off of Amazon for 73.00 with free shipping. I love it.

I use the Polar FT-4 which covers the bases for me as I don't need much storage or PC transfer. If you do then the FT-7 is the one and if you bike and want to track position and miles traveled then the FT-60 is the one. All are excellent.

Agreed on Polar. I use an FT4 for HR tracking and calorie estimation, and Endomondo on my phone for logging runs and bike rides.
