My dh mainly wears white briefs because he's a painter and wears white pants. The last time I bought Hanes he complained that they were like granny panties, as he's a 34 and they were pretty high on the waist. Does anyone know of lower rise white briefs that won't cost an arm & a leg and will hold up well. Thanks.

I have no idea because I'm single and don't buy men's underwear but can I just say I wish more men would go with boxers and ditch the white hanes?? :)

Tell him to go pick out his own.

My wife thinks those and blue breifs are the most unattractive thing to her (her father and brothers use to walk around in them and leave then on the floor around her house when she was young) So I just wear boxer briefs in all colours and styles.

You can get white boxer briefs.

yep, but their sold as singles and are like 12-19 bucks a pop
  • I personally am currently in love with Adidas sport performance boxer briefs (and so is my junk). Perfect support and comfort for either working out or just everyday activity. :)
  • Sorry, I can't help. I always wear my underwear outside of my costume anyway.

I have been a much happier person since switching to boxer-briefs. Seriously, it's all about the boxer-brief. It's the best of both worlds. They're supremely comfortable, they don't rise too high and they keep everything in place.

Also, no man looks cool in tighty-whities. No one. Boxers may look better, but (as they said on Seinfeld) everything's "flippin' and floppin'"

You'll notice on shows like Survivor where men often run around in their underwear that men who wear briefs look just plain silly and those who wear boxer-briefs look cool. And, they're comfortable!
  • I quit wearing "Tidy Whitties" a long time ago but I hate boxers as a lot of men do. I now wear a lower rise boxer brief. I have tried a lot brands and I suggest you have your husband do the same. I have settled on the C9 brand that Target carries. I get the sport kind that are a little higher in price but they are a higher quality and will last longer. They have good support, low rise, come down the leg (helps with chaffing) and the legs dont bunch up like some other brands. I have been wearing these for several years now and would not go back to a brief or a boxer ever.
  • I went to TJ Maxx and got some polo boxer briefs this weekend, 3 pack (black and gray) for $12.99. I also used to wear either hanes or fruit of the loom boxer briefs. It all depends on what he likes. I prefer shorter legs (don't want it going to my knee), and a snugger fit around the important areas. These definitely offer that. I'd say go to a place like TJ Maxx or Marshalls and grab a few different packs have him try them, see which ones he likes and go from there.

I wear boxer briefs... Unfortunately there is no such thing as inexpensive boxer briefs. The best price I have found is $8/pr and the quality isnt great - the waistband disintegrates in a few months.

I normally wear boxer briefs that are pretty low cut, you can get these for 21 bucks for a 3 pack...

My better half wears Hanes, except the boxer briefs and I know those aren't cut very high. I dont know how much your husband is stuck on the 'type' he wears.

Try the C9's at Target or go to Marshalls, TJ Maxx or Steinmart and get Tommy Hilfiger, Polo, or Addidas. Much cheaper than at Dillards of Foley's. There are a lot of 3 packs for around 10-12 dollars. If you get a good pair then $8 - $10 is not a bad price because that typically last a lot longer than the cheaper ones anyway.

The Calvin Kline or any of the sports brands tend to be cut lower.

I wear briefs because my thighs are thick in the middle and boxer briefs tend to roll up my leg. With plain boxers there's too much adjusting necessary (people just aren't too keen on that).

If you're seeing me in my underwear, you'll likely to be seeing me naked before too long. Be patient with my lack of under-fashion.

    Ahahahahaha...

Thanks for that. I needed to laugh today.

Thanks everyone. I will start with Target & TjMaxx since they are both close together. I may order some online, but I would hate to get something that doesn't fit and be stuck. I do most of our shopping and it's just easier. He'll go if he needs jeans or shoes, but that's about it.

Most of the times, people connect high cost with better quality, in terms of clothing. The real scenario is good design is equal to high price. Last month, I bought two pairs of men brief from dannii shop, my hubby says they look trendy, have a lower cut. The icing on the cake is that they are not expensive to buy. If you have a Ross in your area, check them out. they have all the nice boxer/briefs at clearance prices. That way he can try them without a HUGE investment. He might get HUNG up on some cool looking great fitting briefs

I can't help you on this one. I wear only Calvin Kleins. They are more expensive but they last longer and feel much better than any cheap pair I have ever bought.

The Jockey boxer briefs are almost always on sale at JCPenney (if you have one near you).
