Mine is set at 1260. I did the recommended settings and when I started I was at 150, 5'6" and they set it at 1270 and then something happened when I logged I lost 1lb it changed to 1260. Today I logged 3 more lbs and it didn't change.

Mine is set at 1510, I think? That's set for a one pound per week loss. I'm 174 pounds and workout 6 days/week, so general daily calories vary between 1510 on my rest day up to 2000 on my more active days.0

Mine's at 1490 with my activity level set to sedentary0

I am 159 and my goal is to weigh 150. I have mine set to lose .5 a week so it is set at 1550. When I had it set to 1 lb a week it was at 1300 a day. My job has me at a desk all day so aside from the hour at the gym in the morning and getting up and walking around the office most of my day is spent on my behind.0

mine is set at 1320 i'm 136. my bmr is more as i've had it measured but don't know how to change it on here.0

Mine is at 1200 (net) for a projected rate of loss of 1.3 pounds a week... But I exercise a lot because I love it, so I usually eat a lot more calories.0

14300

1630 at the moment. but usually its 1880. i lowered it because its only two weeks until my cruise and i wanna buckle down a bit and see if lowering it changes my body quicker0

Mine is at 1740 also. It seems to be working for me, anything lower and I would be a total grouch! :explode: lol0

Mine is set at 1700 currently, but I change it up here and there, but it is not so much on height I think but at current weight with height..I could be wrong though. Although in saying that the more I lose it seems the higher my calories end up going cause I am always so hungry:-)0

Most women 5'6" working out 3-5 times a week should be between 1800-2300 daily.0

Mine's at 1300 and I AM a total grouch! I work out solely to be able to eat more... Counterproductive? :happy:0 -
Mine is set to 1200, but I am old and close to goal. MFP doesn't set below 1200. I am set to lose .7/lb/wk. I exercise and eat my calories back. So I actually eat b/w 1500-1600. Started at 215, weighed 143 this morning.0

I lost my weight with calories at 1500. I'm 5'5.5".... close enough? I also ate my exercise calories so I usually ate between 1700-1800 cals a day.0

I believe it's weight, height, age, and rate of loss (1-2 lbs per week, etc) Mine is currently set at 1482. I'm 235 (woo hoo for a 2lbs loss :drinker: ) LOL0 -
I'm 5' 6" and at 129.5 pounds. My calorie goal is set at 1580 with a lightly active lifestyle and goal of 1/2 pound loss per week. I try to eat at least half of my workout calories, so I could eat up to 1800 calories a day. I might change it back to 1 pound loss with cals at 1330, but my net calories per day were so low due to the amount of exercise I do and I actually wasn't eating enough. I've plateaued at 128.5-129.5 for the past few weeks and think boosting my calories would help keep my body from going into starvation mode. We'll see how it goes!0

it's set at 1470, I do 40 mins of cardio 6 days a week and burn about 500 cals. I eat about 1400-1700 calories per day. I'm 193 lbs right now.0

Mine is at 1200 but I eat most of my exercise calories so I tend to eat about 1400-1600/cal a day....I'm set a 2lb/wk weight loss at I'm 163lb currently but only 10-13lb away from goal0

I am set at 1200 with no activity. But because I am active most days (I workout 3-5 times a week) I really consume about 1800 a day, but make sure I work out to net down to the 1200....this way I eat enough to not be a total grouch, but know that I do the work to keep at my goal every day.0 -
I am currently at maintenance (1720) with 40% carbs 30% protein 30% fat and 40 grams of fiber. I have been stuck in a plateau for a month so I am going with the plateau and just letting my body stay at 130. It works for me. Working on strength now and training for summer mountain biking and races.0

Same, I am close to my personal goal so (shrug) a 1200 net doesn't really give me a *huge* deficit, especially considering all the estimates of calories and burns... I really lose about a pound a week. I eat back all my exercise calories though So my actual intake has often been on average anywhere from 1500 to 2000+. But I also sit on my butt all day with a creative/computer job so a formal workout is the only real activity built into my day beyond the usual light cleaning, shopping, whatever.0 -
1920, active, 213lb0

mine is set at 1690 for losing 2 lbs/wk at an active fitness setting. I'm not 'active' by any means (i'm a student and am either sitting in a classroom all day or sitting at my computer desk studying) but I wanted more calories on non-workout days. On workout days I usually eat 2000 - 2100 calories.

Lightly active
It set mine to 1440 calories. This is the end of month two and 30 pounds down. For a while I was having trouble hitting my calorie goals - not because I can't find anything to eat but because I was full and worried about gaining weight. I have been stalled for two weeks so this week I started eating more and updated MFP based on weight and activity level (what you see now).
Hopefully that does the trick
I would recommend doing some research on weight loss, plateaus, and exercise levels because some of the descriptions on MFP can be misleading if you are like me and uneducated about nutrition and exercise. But for the most part I have tried and failed at losing weight until I joined here and I am trying to follow MFP's plan.0 -
age: 36
height: 5' 6"
current weight: 246 lbs
desired rate of loss: 1 lb/wk
activity level: sedentary
My calories are set at 1780/day to lose 1 lb/week, but I also exercise 30-60 mins/day to earn an extra 140-280 calories/day, so I actually eat 1920-2060 on most days.0 -
I'm 5'7" and have my account set to sedentary now. It's 1460 cals/day. I'm 177lbs.0

Mine is set to 1350, and I'm 5'6. probably older than most of you. I'm also watching my carbs a bit because I'm diabetic
with some other issues going on. I believe I set it at sedentary when I started out. I usually finish the day under my calorie
count, but I try not to go any lower than 1200 most days because don't want to put myself in starvation mode, did that
throughout my life with every crazy diet imaginable (some prescribed by drs).0 -
Mine is 1610, it started at 1630 - but I lost 20 calories as I've lost some weight.
When I started I weighed 176 - I'm now down to 165 - in only 26 days. I had it set
to lose 1 pound a week. I'm down 11 pounds.0
