If you can't live without sandwiches, Sara Lee has a nice 45cal a slice grain bread that helps cut calories and add good stuff. Welcome

    what is a clean food?

Clean foods are Non-Processed foods.....fruits and veggies, lean meats, whole wheat. Most clean items are the ones on the outer edge of the store (with the exception of brown rice, dried beans, ground whole wheat, natural nut butters, etc.) I just started eating this way a month ago and it is awesome. I've never felt better. But it is amazing/shocking how much JUNK is in food, even the stuff you thought was ok for you to eat.

Thank you all so much for taking the time! I am also overwhelmed on how to incorporate these clean foods and where to start! I have some great ideas! I live in a rural area, so all these gems are not going to be available to me.

HUGE plate sized salads. I have one almost every night. Lots of different greens, fresh baby spinach leaves, lots of other veggies like tomatoes, cucumbers, red/green/yellow peppers, radishes, green onions, whatever I have on hand, chopped egg - no meat, , shredded cheese, craisins or dried or fresh blueberries or mandarin oranges, snap sugar peas, lemon pepper onion crisps, garlic croutons, you name it - topped with only red wine vinegar (different types) for dressing. Love it all.

ETA, Also loving the Green Giant All Natural broccoli/carrot/cauliflower in cheese sauce Steamable mixes. The entire 12oz bag is only 135 calories and makes a HUGE, GREAT lunch. I will be eating one every day this week.

-lentils with kale (and sometimes smoked turkey - which kind of doesn't count... but Whole Foods does carry smoked turkey with no nitrates/nitrites and it's goooooood! )
-eggs scrambled with spinach and peppers
-baked sweet potatoes (no added fat/sugar)
-seasoned ground beef/turkey over steamed new potatoes

Not very "clean" but for "cheat" snack I like plain popcorn and I sprinkle those seasonings you get at move theater.
