Spitting has always felt rude to me, not to mention it's messier.

I swallow it. I have since I was a kid (not sure why I started) but now I can't spit it out. It just feels weird not to swallow anything that I've chewed, it's obviously a habit from eating. (lol)

And no, swallowed gum does not stay in the stomach for 7 years. If it did tons of people would have impactions and would be requiring surgery all the time. It passed through the digestive tract at the normal speed of digestion.

    EWWW!

Dirty Mind? Actually I thought the thread may have something to do with brushing teeth and toothpaste. My dentist gave me some and I was directed to not rinse after brushing. Thankfully, I can spit though.

Swallow. the answer is always swallow.
What do you mean? An African or European swallow?
Both... it depends on my mood and the circumstances.

Only an African swallow. Not a European.
