How to keep motivated after 'the event'?

Hi,

So I've been at this for 15 or so days (maybe a couple of days longer!). I'm not tracking weight but bodyfat in lbs. So far I've lost 3.5lbs of fat and would like to lose another 15-20 lbs. In theory at say 1.5lbs of fat every week that's another 10-15 weeks.

My 'event' is a holiday in 3.5 weeks time. Hoping to work hard and lose another 3-5lbs in that time. I'm switching between running 7k on trails (15% gradients in some places!) and cycling 20 miles. Just listening to my body and taking rest days when resting heart rate is elevated or I can't sleep so well.

My problem is I'm always super motivated before holidays, work hard, but then I get home to England I'm jet lagged, work has piled up, and my lungs hurt when I'm out due to dropping 20-25 degrees from holiday temps!

How can I get home and find the motivation to get back on track? I've thought about exercising while on holiday but SE Asia is just so damn hot!

Any ideas... ? I want to break this cycle!

Maybe checking into MFP will be the motivation you need when you get back from vacation?

Set a goal for the next event or trip or time frame. I lost 35 lbs. in a contest with my sisters because we were going on a cruise. While I maintained that loss for about six months I never lost any more weight and didn't really work out either. So on January 2nd I started a 90 day challenge. I set my 90 day goals and have been working hard to achieve them. I have lost 10 lbs., 5.5 inches in my waist and hips and a pant size. At the end of the 90 days I'll set another goal for the next 90 days. I found out my sisters have planned a trip to Hawaii which helps but I think I'll keep plugging away 90 days at a time.

That's sorta what I'm thinking, maybe enter a dualthon for say 5-6 weeks after I get back! Perhaps knowing that next event is coming will keep me motivated while on holiday :).
