Women - what's your favorite protein powder?

i am interested in buying Whey protein powder.. are there any natural protein powders with not so much unecessary ingredients that are good? low in carbs and sugar as well? i've heard good reviews on Optimum Nutrition and Ultimate Nutrition - ISO but would love to hear from any ladies who do have whey protein powders as a part of their meals and what not...

i am interested in whey protein because i think it'd be a great boost for my protein intake and after cardio as wel

Diesel Perfect Nutrition Whey Protein Isolate. It's got 27 g protein per scoop, 0.5 g carbs, and it's sweetened with stevia. Great flavor, too. Cost-wise it is in line with most other whey protein powders; app. $30 for 2 lbs.
  • I like Hemp Protein Powder from Sangsters. It's very natural with no additives.
  • I like Pure Protein. I combine vanilla and chocolate because I don't like too much chocolate taste. I've also put a banana with the chocolate and love that!
  • I use 100% whey from optimum nutrition. I use the vanilla icecream flavor, that and chocolate is all my albertson's carry. you can get better flavors online.

It's super yummy, and either 21g of protein per scoop or 23g, like 110 calories.

Right now I have Body Fortress Chocolate. It's not bad! I've had some that were terrible tasting! I have this one since my mother didn't want it anymore and had a bunch left.

I hear muscle milk is pretty good. I'm thinking of picking up some of that but I still have a large jar of the body fortress left.

The Body Fortress is 140 cals and 25g of protein per scoop and doesn't taste too bad (I've only mixed it with milk so far and used an immersion blender). It was about $15 on sale at Walmart. Not bad amounts of protein and calories for the price.

Obsessed with muscle milk! Love the flavors and I'm also lactose intolerant so it doesn't bother my belly. I buy the regular kind but the light version is just as amazing

I love the SMART Smoothie from Complete Nutrition in Vanilla Bean. I mix it with 8 oz of Trop 50 orange juice, ORANGE JULIUS! YUM!!!
  • Optimum Nutrition is my fav low carb brand.

120 calories and 24g of pro

Check out flavors online - you can get chocolate mint flavor that tastes like you are drinking girl scout cookies.
I mix all of mine with milk though. Makes the flavor ten times better. Can use 6 ox of almond milk and it adds only 30 calories.

A protein supplement isn't a sex-specific thing. Just thought I'd point that out.

I'm a fan of Allmax Isoflex. Pretty much any flavour.
  • I use Arbonne Essentials Protein Powder -- its vegan, can be mixed in water and actually tastes good and it has 20g of protein along with a whole host of other vitamins and nutrients with no artificial sweeteners.
  • Kaizen whey from costco in both the vanilla and chocolate.

150 cals a scoop and 32g protein. 1 g carbs and less than 1g of sugar.

i like the market pantry whey protein chocolate at target. 2lbs and is about 15-17$ really reasonable. 25g protein and all the aminos. I also like maxpro tiramisu from maxmuscle 30g protein in 1 scoop. my friend really likes the strawberry from maxmuscle. and we both use visalus protien sweet cream, but i use is only sometimes since it is soy protein. i try to limit the use of vi to once every few days.

Designer Whey.. Love it.. Only 100 calories a scoop.. flavors are good.. I mix with almond milk to make it a bit creamy or just put it in my smoothie.. :) Having some right now! :)
  • Visalus! its low cal, it tastes amazing, and not too expensive!!

Half the protein and double the price.

    I wouldn't suggest this one.

I recently discovered (and reconfirmed the hard way) that I'm very allergic to Whey protein. 5 days of severe hives and 2 R/X's and a Dr. visit later- I'm using Jay Robb Egg White Protein. 120 calories 0 fat 0 cholesterol 4 Total Carbs 24 g of Protein. I love it and the few things I've made with it my kids loved- no chalky funky "what is in this" comments I normally get when I try to sneak protein into recipes. Anyone else have recommendations for whey alternatives?
