What Are Your Shopping List Staples?

I'm looking for ways to expand my menu... what are some of the items that appear regularly on your list? What do you like to make?
For example... I've never tried hummus, not sure what to do with it. But some of the usual things on my list are baby carrots, radishes, snap peas, and celery. I have a new found love of spinach, but I know there are lots of other things I can try.
Looking forward for new ideas! :-)

Meat (whatever has the best sale - I freeze extras), eggs, vegetables and fruit. Oh and yams (yum!).0

I dip whole wheat crackers in hummus, or eat it on celery. Some people have told me its good on sandwiches. Staples of my shopping list: celery, apples, chicken, spinach, eggs, bananas.0

My shopping lists usually includes oatmeal, meats, fresh -frozen veggies, fruits, and yogurt (greek and yoplait light)0

Hummus is awesome...you can dip those veggies in it. It's also really great for using as a spread in a sandwich or pita.
My newest staple is brussel sprouts...I use to think they were so nasty. But now I love them. I just sautee them with a little olive oil and garlic, and a splash of balsamic vinegar. If you try it make sure the pan is really hot, you want to brown them a bit and not let them get all mushy.
Also on my list from the freezer section is mango chunks, great in a smoothie or added to some yogurt.0 -

snacks (I like 100 cal packs, but if you are natural food person almonds and cheese are nice)

chobani (I like pineapple, which tastes like cheesecake, and raspberry)

light string cheese, turkey pepperoni, lowfat/ff cottage cheese, low carb yogurt and/or greek yogurt, lite high fiber whole wheat bread, baby carrots, fruit (depending on the sales but including berries, apples, grapes, bananas, etc), and some type of sugar free chocolate item....like pudding or fudgesicles. Gotta have something sweet while staying on track.0

Hummus is sooo good! I either dip veggies in it (baby carrots work well) or eat it with whole grain crackers.
I always have fresh fruits and veggies on my list. As well as greek yogurt, Whole wheat bread, Whole wheat tortillas, and beans.
I'm vegetarian, so no meat. I do make tuna fish on occasion though.0 -
I always have eggs, bread, fresh fruit (whatever is in season), and frozen veggies. At the moment I'm also totally in love with light apricot yoghurt as a snack.
Hummus makes a really good dip or spread, as mentioned above. Use it for flavour in a sadnwich in place of mayo, for example, or as a healthy alternative for dipping vegetable sticks, crackers or chips into.0 -

I'm not really a "whole foods" person, although anytime I can choose them over something packaged is a good thing. I try to keep my sodium down, among other things!

Quinoa is a grain (like rice) and it is round and delicious and fun to eat. I make a salad of it with red and green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, olive oil (2 TBs) and lemon juice. I use about 1/2 uncooked quinoa for this. sooo good and I make it for lunch for the week.0

sometimes they change. But right now:
- hummus and some type of cracker for it (that's usually my afternoon snack, my fav cracker right now is the wasa 7 grain crisp n light, they are really big and only 20cal each!)
- spinach - i like it sauteed with olive oil and garlic
- yellow pepper - i usually sautee some with the spinach, or eat it raw dipped in hummus!
- rice milk - dairy and I don't agree with each other. Or rather, I agree with it, my stomach does not
- bananas- for smoothies or just by themselves for breakfast!
- grapes- easy snack for me and for my 5 year old

Black beans, many of Amy's organic vegan & gluten free soups, Almond milk, gluten free cereal. I am trying to eat more greens and leafy greens so broccoli and spinach with arugula . Happy shopping!
p.s. I was a hummus ADDICT! Loved it with gluten free chips. I took them out of my foods because of the high calorie and fat content per serving and lost 5 pounds!0 -

find a store with a Walden Farms section...0% everything! That Greek Yogurt that was mentioned by a few people...Walden farms Jelly or Syrup makes it very yummy and it adds nothing in Cals, Fat, Carbs, etc. It has to be Walden Farms though.0

I try to keep my house stocked with these items at all times. I am lucky that I don't require change that much so I can basically eat the same things on a daily basis.0 -
.....and as for humus.....I don't like garlic...ick !!!!0
