nightmares?

I have them...they're usually some level of manifestation of a real-life issue or worry. But I'm just as prone to having very vivid, very great dreams too!0

I don't think people usually grow out of nightmares.
I remember my dreams most nights, and maybe 20-30% are nightmares. My regular dreams tend to have dark undertones though so yeah Usually somebody is trying to murder me and I am trying to escape. Sometimes I get murdered. Once I was reincarnated. I was in a three story shopping mall. The floors were tall and I saw my ex boyfriend. He ran up to me and hugged me. It was really tight and I had a bad feeling. Then he tried throwing me over the railings. I fell on one of those hanging displays (still on the third floor) and so did he. Then when I thought I could escape he knocked me off and we both fell. Then I was a ghost and somebody could see me and offered to let me start over in another person's body. Then I was reincarnated into a woman who lived in some small Texan town and ran a grocery store xD0 -
I've had nightmares all my life.. more of them than regular dreams. I dream very vividly, in bright colors and crisp sound. Most of the time I can't tell that whether I'm awake or asleep. My very earliest memories are of nightmares that I've had. I'm almost 40 and still have them. It's just part of who I am.0

I still have nightmares on occasion...or just really weird dreams where you wake up & just lie there for a minute thinking WTF?!?!?0

i have a reocurring nightmare. same damn one. I am a student in high school or college and i realize when it comes times for finals that I forgot to go to a class for the entire semester. (variations include not being able to find the room it is being held in, not knowing where my locker is or what my combination is, etc...) I've been told its an "achievement" dream. haha
I have a similar one where I can't remember my schedule or room numbers so I don't know where to go and I have to take this class or not graduate. The school is always like a maze and I wonder around aimlessly in a cold sweat.
Exactly! Same exact one! lol0 -
Yes all the time. Apparently if you dream about a house is signifies You, and if you dream of teeth or anything coming out of your body it signifies pregnancy. I dream about both of these things regularly...it terrifes the shiznit out of me
OH CRAP!!!! I dream about my teeth coming out all the time....0 -
I usually have nightmares if I either have cheese before bed or sleep on my back!0
-
I've had recurring dreams of a house that is being eroded away at the foundation, water issues....I've also "seen the light" in many of mine too....what does that mean?0

Reoccurring nightmares from a long time ago. I relive certain horrors, wake up in a sweat or wife wakes me up because of thrashing. Much more, but I'll save that - painful.0

I had this dream I was climbing a tall apple tree. I wanted the apple at the very top and who knows how many apples I passed along the way to reach it. So i climb and climb, finally reaching my apple. As I grabbed it, the rest of the apples on the tree turned into midgets with spears who chased me all over that apple tree.
What does it mean? It means I won't drink a bottle of cough syrup before bed.0 -
also, I have one often where my body is paralyzed,,,,ever have those? your mind is awake and you try to move your body or part of it or sit up but cant, until you finally snap out of it! I first had one when I was little and told my dad about it, he said it's your soul leaving your body and if you wake up before it gets back in, you die. Thanks dad!0

I've had that before! It's crazy scary, like being possessed or something, not being able to control your own body.0 -

I get this too periodically, though it's been a while. The weird part is that it's usually accompanied by panic. Like "I can't move. Oh no, this is really bad!". And I try to cry out and can't. Then it's this vigorous struggle to finally snap out of it.0 -
ok everysince i was younger, i keep having this dream of me walking into this dark kitchen ( it has a little glowing light) and my moms sitting at the table with her legs on it, and shes trying to cut them off with a knife...i have no idea why i dream this but it would be nice if it stopped because its freaking scary..and then i have like zombie dreams and stuff like that but thats has to be by far the wierdest and most disturbing nightmare...0

i've had the same recurring nightmare since i was a child, very odd though just shades of grey and then shapes, numbers and letters come flying toward me like snow, they just get more and more - it scares the life out of me and i always wake from it scared stiff and upset - no idea why it is so scary nor what it signifies
odd though as well most of my adult life I've been a senior accountant0 -

Wow... add me to the list of this exact same dream *L*0 -
I have a super crazy reoccurring bad dream. It always makes me feel icky and disgusting. I am sure that it says something profoundly horrific and scary about my psyche but I honestly don't know what. It doesn't correlate to any real world experience of mine so why I dream this is a freaky mystery; however, I often dream that I have to go to the bathroom really bad and the only bathroom available to me is disgusting. I don't mean just dirty. I mean insanely filthy with, yes I am going to type it, people's waste all around, wet floors, very bizarre and cramped conditions. The type of bathrooms that can only be found in horror movies and extreme hoarders' homes. Sometimes they are single stall, some double, up to dozens and dozens or even a 100. Weird, I know. Gets weirder. Sometimes 2 potties in one stall. Sometimes no doors and other people are present. Sometimes I am attempting to use the facility alone. It's always like the grossest thing ever and I am about to gag and freak out the whole time. Upon entering freak bathroom from hell liquid starts to absorb into my pants cuffs (heebie effing jeebies) and whatever commode I have to hover over is very hard to get to and so filthy that the unsuccessful balancing act usually ends up with something touching my thigh leading me to flee the bathroom without having done my deed and still in great physical discomfort due to my perdicament. It probably means I am going to become a serial killer one day b/c I can't imagine any normal perrson having such a dream. I will probably lose all of MFP friends for sharing this publicly. I am doomed to start accumulating cats, become a hoarder, and create the bathroom of my nightmares in my own damn house. Great!0

I have a dream dictionary....Might go get it out and analyze all of your dreams! This could take a while....I think I will start with the apples turning into midgets...that has GOT to have a good meaning!0
-
I do from time to time. I am frantically trying to protect my kids from some unseen danger, and suddenly realize I am not in my own home so panic when I dont know where to hide.
I have it less since my ex and I split and the kids are no longer kids..0 -

I heard that if you dream about teeth falling out it means you have something you need to say, that you're swallowing your words so to speak.
I watched Hoarders the other night, then I had a nightmare that my company closed down and when I went to clean out my cube, it was full of roaches.0 -
I often have dreams where my legs are worthless. They are like dead weight and I have to get somewhere desperately and all I can do is pull myself along with my arms.0

creepy to say the least, cut the ambien, drink some wine0
