So I had a small set back today

Call it workplace obligation or emotional extortion/blackmail by my friendly colleagues (recently moved to Middle-East). Well, I gave in. Went out to Outback Steakhouse for lunch. And inspite of my 'best' efforts, I ended up polishing off around 1500+ cal, just for lunch! Went crazy on the honey wheat bread, full loaf. My entire day's limit is around 1380 cal, 1500 tops.

Since I don't want to skip my evening meal, I'll end up having around 2232 today. That is a big jump. I do workout daily evening for an hour plus on elliptical at fairly high intensity 6 dy/wk, but this scale of lack of control is not acceptable. I'm feeling defeated. Will have to count it as my weekly cheat meal, usually reserved for Friday nights, and move on.

Here's my journey so far.

You have the right mind set to count it as a "Splurge Day" and move on. Good Luck!
  • We all have bad days. Don't be too hard on yourself! Try to get an extra workout in and eat healthy the rest of the week. This one splurge is not going to be the end of you. :-) Keep a positive attitude, get back on track, and remind yourself that you are worth all the hard work!

I think the part you're not emphasizing enough to yourself is that it is "SMALL" setback... not the end of the world. sure, its not ideal, but you won't do that everyday... and the important thing is that tomorrow you'll get yourself back on track, and things are right again. :)

    stay positive! life happens... :flowerforyou:

Thank you all for you kind words. It's really encouraging. Appreciate your support.

Started working out at 98Kg as on 01 Feb 2012. After one month of relatively intense cardio 1hr, 6 days a week. Today morning I'm at 92Kg. So that's a little over 13 lbs lost in a month.

From today onwards am adding additional weight training to the mix for 30-45min / 4 sets / 8-12 reps / Two body parts per day for 3 days per week alternating with 60min cardio only days.

    Cheers.
